Sodam Korean Restaurant

I had to reveiw this place again because it has gone down hill. First quality of food was poor, meat was fatty and over cooked. Almost seemed reheated. I was very dissapointed. But to top it off the service was terrible. It took forever and our meals were served 10 minutes apart. The hostess was rude when we asked to speed things up. We will not return it was slow, poor quality, over cooked and the lady up front was rude. Too many better places for good Korean in town. This place used to be so good. But not any more.

Young's Korean Restaurant

I'm in love with pajeon, in love, I tell you! And if you're not, you've never had it -- or never had it prepared correctly. How can one go wrong with the combination of the satisfying crunchy goodness of the edges adorned with the savory bulk of the vegetables? And then...oh then...you dip that baby in the salty, acidic dipping sauce. True happiness. (Oh, and the dipping sauce? Equal parts soy sauce and vinegar, combined with a small twist of lemon. Delish!) Pajeon (Korean pancake) and Beef Bulgogi are my Korean comfort foods. I've eaten them at all three local Korean restaurants, as well as in Korean restaurants in Portugal, Spain, and Australia. (If you enjoy Asian foods and have already visited their countries of origin, I encourage you to visit Sydney. Street after street of very good, reasonably priced Korean and Japanese restaurants. Their quirky early history of discriminating against Asian immigrants unless they were cooks, has created an Asian foodlovers unsuspecting paradise.)The pajeon at Young's is decent. I slightly prefer Sodams, as it tends to be crispier, but certainly Young's versions is quite acceptable. The Bulgogi, I find a bit unremarkable. The meat seems less seasoned and has a haggard look about it. It also is a bit too dry. However, the onions and scallions are nicely glazed, unlike at Seoul Garden, where they once were served nearly raw.As others have mentioned, the ambience is somewhat clinical with fluorescent lights and sticky plastic tablecloths and chairs. I think the space is entirely too large, as I have never seen it filled to capacity, which gives you the impression that it is not a highly desirable eatery. But, the staff are typically friendly and will do their best to accommodate you, and service, they say, is equal to or more important to a restaurant than their food. One never leaves hungry, and is generally satisfied after eating a meal at Young's, so I wouldn't discourage someone from trying it.

Seoul House Korean Restaurant

I was quite surprised that in ROC there was a Korean restaurant that didn't dumb down the food. Six banchan all well done. Kimchi could have been a bit spicier. Soodofu was very good. The bibimbap was good but the stone pot wasn't hot enough to get the rice crispy.
