Nagano Japanese Seafood and Steak House

We had always wanted to try this place for lunch. Supper was such a great experience (everytime, several times over several years), so we wanted to try it for less money. We're moving an hour away next week, so it was now or never. They didn't disappoint. We had the place to ourselves, which was great. The soup was excellent. We love the ginger dressing on the salad; the lettuce was fresh and cold; simply delicious. The sesame teriyaki chicken was my wife's choice; at $7.95 for soup, salad, entree, fried or steamed rice, and veggies, the value can't be beat. And the shrimp deal was only a dollar more. They give you ginger and seafood sauces for dipping; they are scrumpcious. My wife had water with lemons; no charge, of course. I had hot green tea, they kept filling up the pot. It was only a buck twenty-five. It was like they were giving it away. The bill was wrong, it said Iced tea, which was $2. I pointed out the error, which they quickly corrected. It was only $.75, but every little bit counts, right? The total amount for both meals was $19.25, a steal. We left a $3 tip, so we walked out with full stomachs (and my wife took half of her's home) for $22.25.One more thing: it was a cold, rainy day. The hot soup hit the spot, and a hot lunch was "the ticket". WOW!

My favorite local restaurant by far. Today I had the Express Lunch Box which contained eight pieces California Sushi, Chicken Teriaki, Two pieces of Mixed Tempura, Gyoza Dumplings, Edamame and a choice of soup or salad. I chose the chicken soup which came with sliced mushroom. My daughter had a mixed platter of Regular Sushi and the salad that comes with a special dressing. The diverse menu offers much more than sushi. The staff is always cheerful and accommodating. Located at the Village Shops in Snellville, there is plenty of free parking.

Sakegura Japanese Restaurant

My husband and I decided to try this place out because our regular (and beloved) sushi joint was closed for renovations. So the good...the pieces of fish on the servings of Nigiri are very generous and fresh, no fishy taste there. The spicy tuna is something I've never seen either, in a good way. Your typical spicy tuna roll is filled with tuna mixed with the spicy mayo and tempura flake concoction, but their spicy tuna was fresh tuna slices that had a spicy, kind of smoky sauce on it, no mayo (hallelujah!) and no tempura flakes. The not so good.....roll variety :( in fact the only spicy roll they had on their menu was the spicy tuna roll, and that was it. The choices were kind of lack-luster, which was about the rating I would give the service as well, not very attentive, had to flag them down a few times just to get refills and our bill. My husband also advised me that their restroom (or at least the men's) was in his words "disgusting", he said the smell and the layers of dust and grime were nauseating, and he was thankful he didn't use it until after we ate, because otherwise he thinks he would have lost his appetite...I will say that the place seems to be a good place to host a birthday dinner, because there were 3 birthday dinners going on at 3 different hibachi tables.
