Recommended by fellow traveller a stone's throw from our hotel. Offers speciality ales and delightful tapas. Portion sizes enormous. See photos! A labour of love for the owner, a chef who will bend backwards to give you tasty morsels and a very bubbly waitress. Went last night going again tonight. We had heard about Lillyâs from a previous trip but had been unable to fit it into our itinerary! Big mistake!!!The restaurant is extremely relaxing very flexible and the food is outstanding! Do try the pre meal madeira wine - dry - it is a delight. We had the calamari, octopus for starters and the filet with mushrooms and RV for mains. Each were superb and the Alvarihno wine with it made our day! Came for set lunch 15⬠as recommended by our guide on the tour of the East of the Island. The food was OK. The decor is rather bland and dated.

Stopped by here by chance passing through Santa Cruz. We had a great meal, really reasonably priced, with swift and friendly service. The boys were happy with the food (and the free WiFi!) and my husband and I were very happy with the food, cleanliness and atmosphere. Added bonus of a complimentary glass of Madeira. This restaurant has a fabulous local feel. We tried the local fish Black Scabbard which is a mild fish taste and the steak which comes on large metal skewers and was very tender. We were lucky enough to catch a traditional local music and dance show which was fun. I do recommend popping in.
