Went here for a couple of drinks then decided to eat here one evening as it always seemed to be busy with local people! Well what a gem of a place!! The food was absolutely amazing. Lovely friendly staff and great value. Best meal me have had while visiting Porto Santo! Thank you x

Not as classy as the Casa d;Avo more or less opposite, but that is reflected in the price, and it's equally good food, drink, and sevice. Bolo de caco is the Porto Santoese holey bread, delicious with garlic butter and very filling. With espetada you usually get one or two tough pieces among the others, but here they were uniformly tender and very tasty. There was no room for one of those ultra-sweet Potuguese puddings, so we escaped for 40 euros, including a good bottle of red wine, but only because when we tried to pay for the glasses of white we had as aperatifs, they told us they were complementary. 40 euros counts as good value in Portugal these days, but there was a time...Serving staff were courteous and friendly without being intrusive, the manager genial. This is a big eating area, and not busy during the week, but, in several visits over the years, the clientele has been mainly Portuguese, which is a recommendation in itself.

It rained Sunday so we made use of this newly refurbished restaurant's free transfers and spent a good few hours here. The garlic bread starter was the best we've tasted ever, the octopus and lamb chops outstanding. The wine list is good and reasonably priced.

Food is excellent. Its meat is first rate. The rice made with butter was extraordinary. The attention very good, the waiter, even the owner who came to my hotel to fetch me and take me back (it is rather difficult to find the restaurant) But the problem is that they bring bread, butter, some ham and cheese. But they charge nearly 11 euros for that (0,70 each butter, 3,50 the bread!!! 3 euros a little ham and also 3 euros for some cheese) I could not believe my eyes when I saw that. If he wanted to charge a COUVERT they should give the choice to the client, but not overcharging for something you did not ask for. That is why I say it is POOR.
