We thought ok. Main of bass was well cooked but accompanying vegetables were bland. Risotto of crevette better but very rich. The rolls ( Vietnamese style) tasted odd. We definitely would not order again. Wine was good as was appertifs but food let the night down. Bill was â¬111 with no dessert. Alot for a IL de Re.

Knew I was coming up to Portes-en-Re" for lunch, so referred to Trip Advisor to avoid a repeat of yesterdays lunch at a disgusting tourist trap. We were promptly seated at a table on the terrace. They had a limited Prix-Fix menu for lunch. This is not the kind of place where you are going to be able to get a hamburger or steak frites, so don't waste their time. They have a nice wine list, but since I was driving a small amount of Rose' was in order. They had two entrees, both excellent. One was a fruit and goat cheese pate (for lack of the exact French word) I had a fish pate' with a small light salad. We both had the brochette of beef, but they mussels they offered also looked good. We had one of each dessert: Crème Brule and BaBa rum cake. They bring out the rum sauce in a bottle to the table and you make it to taste. Very pleasant staff speaks enough English and the bathroom was very nice. There is a reason it is #1.

Iâm always delighted to return to this lovely restaurant and last night did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, beautifully cooked and presented; the wine was perfectly selected for us and the service was, as always, friendly, helpful, professional and welcoming. Very good food, very good wine. The owner very clipped and standoffish, the bare minimum in terms of interactions, at the limit of being unfriendly. I don't think he likes what he does and it affects the mood of the experience in his restaurant. It was my birthday, i had let the owner know. Without expecting any extra fuss, a little smile, a bit of grace would have gone a long way to make this a nice evening......so, despite the nice food, nothing draws me to come back here.

We were so grateful to have been accommodated without a booking for our family celebration. We were shown to a lovely table. Disappointingly for one of our party, they were unable to have their choice of food or drink (apparently there had been a fire in the kitchen so fish and chips were off the menu). Then after waiting for our starters for 45 mins, our mains turned up. We asked the waiter but they didnât know what had happened, so we agreed to keep our mains as we were so hungry. When we went to pay the bill our starters were still on there. The food was fine.

We come here each time we visit the Ile de Ré. Fortunately no-one seems to have caught on about this treasure, slight exaggeration! You need to book. Today we had the âpoisson du jourâ filleted sardines, excellent! The staff are really great and the atmosphere is totally holiday. The view is second to none.

I love La Fromentine. It's inexpensive, the ambiance is nice, the staff is attentive, and the food is wonderful. There's a nice selection of sweet and savory crepes and hot and cold drinks. The location is great - just west of the town square on a small road with a number of restaurants and shops.

We arrived late but the staff was kind enough to move us twice due to large groups occupying two of the rooms. The starters and main courses were excellent. The manager is from Burgundy so the wine list is good too. We hope to return soon!

In the fine decor of a 17th century style dining room, delight in an intimate gastronomic dinner at La Table d'Olivia. The restaurant welcomes a maximum of twenty guests each evening for a unique culinary experience. Here, you will enjoy a refined and aut
From start to finish an excellent experience. A small but impeccable dining room offers the most refined dining experience in St Martin. The cooking here easily surpasses several Michelin starred restaurants we have visited recently and I'm sure the guide must surely be thinking awarding one here. What we liked was a respect for the ingredients. Top produce with seasonality in mind and then cooked to perfection with a restraint not to add unnecessary garnishes. We also shared a bottle of the hotel's own wine Chateau Clarisse Vielle Vignes 2015 which is new Chateau to me. What a lovely bottle. Already drinking superbly I can say quality to price ratio it is somewhat of a bargain. Until next year! Dear Madam, Dear Sir, I am delighted to read your kind words, thank you for taking the time to share your experience at La Table dâOlivia.Thrilled to read that you appreciated the cuisine of our Chef Thibault Peyroche. We take care about choosing and cooking local and seasonal products. For the decoration, I collaborated with the renowned designer Mr. Pierre-Yves Rochon, and I surrounded myself with the best craftsmen in order to highlight the history of the Ile de Ré and the Region.Delighted to read that you have appreciated our wines. Our own wine, Château Clarisse, enjoys clay-limestone and clay-siliceous soil and is composed of 67% merlot, 30% cabernet francs and 3% carmenere.I would be happy to welcome you again.
