Finding restaurants like this tucked away I a quite neighbourhood of Merignac is what visiting France is all about. The restaurant is family and couple oriented. There's a great welcome when you arrive into surroundings of traditional and modern. We tried the Chef's menu which was 3 courses and an amuse bouche all for €35. What a bargain for a. Saturday night. Good wines are available by the glass. The a la carte menu looked very tempting as well but it is tough to beat the Chef's menu. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

We went there for a dinner with a family during our first day in Bordeaux. Some dishes like fish were really good, pork and pigeon were nothing special. Wine recommendations were good, lovely setting in the garden. Overally nice impression, but the waiting times between the dishes were quite long and the price - considering the quality of the food - was too high.

We loved Saveurs d'Aquitaine, a lovely little restaurant. The speciality truffles are incorporated in many of their dishes. We enjoyed watching the chef create his delicious presentations, and wish that they had been open the following night so we could have returned. The menu is not extensive, but everything we ordered was fresh and savory. The service was timely and their wines good value. If you travel to Bordeaux try this little gem!

Really amazing meal. The flavor combinations are unique, things that shouldn't go together somehow do and make for a party in your mouth. The duck start with foie, the steak on the salt rock and the tuna tartar were faves. Cute atmosphere as well. Highly recommend if you're looking for something slightly different than a typical brassiere.

So, let’s just say, a wonderful restaurant, in all respects. Husband and wife team, both artists, both in love with food, and who love to share their passion. We are the lucky recipients. Only ‘surprise’ menus, perfectly orchestrated to show case seasonal ingredients. Imaginative plating. Small, carefully selected wine list. Every wine has a story. We’ve had several dinners here, from the days they first opened, to now. Each one memorable. The chef continues to grow. We didn’t think he could get any better...but he has! His wife, is an amazing combination of efficiency, charm and knowledge. More than a restaurant...an event! ,,

I chose this restaurant from many reviews I read on TripAdvisor for our 2nd and final night's dinner in Bordeaux. We arrived just before our reserved time of 8 (20h) and were seated inside. The patio was full of happy hour people. Once they left we finally got some attention. The host couldn't find my reservation so I showed him the email I had received that confirmed. He said no problem. The Fork messed up because I got a text the next day that my lunch reservation at noon was waiting for me! I was already on the train to Paris by then?? We each ordered our own bottle of wine. I had the Red Languedoc 750cl and ended up ordering a 2nd one once I determined that I could carry the half bottle of so that I knew I wouldn't drink with me (so I drank 1 1/2 bottles!!). My other half a white Entre Deux Mers. I enjoyed mine enough obviously. I stared with the Bulots (Whelks) and Prawns (Eyeballs and all). The whelks weren't what I remembered from some I had years ago in Paris, but they were still good. Once I got the shrimp peeled, they were very tasty as well. My other half an anchovy appetizer. For my main, I had the lamb chops, cooked rare to medium rare (saignante) as ordered. It came with vegetables. My other half had the swordfish (espadon). The food was very good. We also had tap water to wash our meal down with the usual bread. We passed on dessert. They didn't have paper menus--only a board with the daily menu and just 1 in English so we had to wait although I could read the French as well. I think they had 2 of those? It was a good evening. We spend some money because of 3 wine bottles, but that was ok. My only issue would be that it would have been nice to have a Table d'hote ( a fixed menu with a few choices). I would consider returning when back in Bordeaux.

We were quite excited to return to this restaurant since we’ve had a couple of outstanding meals here. This dinner was no exception but the evening, overall, was lacking. The interior has undergone a renovation...it’s very pink! There’s been a staff change, too. Service was a little aloof. We chose the four course tasting menu which turns out to be eight courses with extras. The portions are small but, still, a lot of food! We heard several diners refuse dessert. It was a full house and everyone appeared to have the same menu. The kitchen was able to keep pace, no long waits between courses, food served hot, impeccably plated. The servers were a bit rushed, though, understandably so. While all the food was very very good, nothing was outstanding or particularly memorable, like previous dinners. Fish and meat courses maybe on the safe side. Wines are on the pricey side, a couple in the 40 euro mark and then jump to 65 and much higher. This restaurant is definitely worth going to...and returning to. There were repeat customers, locals. We paid about 170 euros with a decent bottle of wine. Good value and a most pleasant experience, just a bit lacking...in personality, maybe. Or it could be all that pink.Thank you for your return on your meal at Solena. Thank you for coming back to see us and enjoy our cuisine. We have noted the different elements on which we could improve and we will do everything to put in place from your passage in Bordeaux and Soléna. Thank you for your loyalty.

If there is one dish to win my heart over in a restaurant, it is the smoked foie gras with coffee sponge at Le Pavillon des Boulevards. It’s the perfect match of flavours and texture. It makes me want to go back to have that dish anytime again! We had a very nice dinner at the restaurant. All the dishes were beautifully presented and tasted delicious apart from the fish “tartar” which perhaps needed a bit more intensity in its flavours. The wine matching with each course were great, compliments to the sommelier. Service was efficient and friendly. The ambience was tranquil. We got a table overlooking the courtyard. With the natural light of the long European summer days filling the all white interior of the restaurant, it’s very soothing and relaxing! Together with the delicious food, we could sigh a happy sigh: “Ah! Life is good! “
