Had a nice summer dinner here yesterday with a very nice host whom informed in a very eager way about food and drinks and its origins. The typical summer burger with fries almost perfect, maybe a touch to much salt, but overall an experience above expectations.

No more or less than expected. A hotel that delivers just on the price level as most Thon Hotels do. No luxury, but clean and average.

Glorioso

Glorioso has been around for a number of years and is frequented by locals and visitors alike. Like many of the other restaurants in this neighborhood, it reflects the large immigrant community in Asker. The outdoor tables, protected from direct sunshine by large beach umbrellas and surrounded by plants to separate the area from the sidewalk offer a cozy area from which to watch the world go by. You can eat in or take your food home. It offers wine and beer and there is table service. The major focus is Italian food, with pastas and pizza sharing the limelight. Risotto, ice cream and good coffee complement the main dishes and the restaurant also advertises Italian Tapas (surely and oxymoron).

Went here with my wife for a dinner after work one afternoon. They serve Italian dishes from the counter by weight. We asked the guy to compose a combination for us, which he did well. The ones we had were excellent, with a home cooked taste and feel to them. Excellent service as well. We will definitely return.

We tried this restaurant for the first time and had some expectations after what we have heard from others. Although this dinner was a promotional offer I did expect more than what we got. The food was good, but the service was inadequate. At the time we was there they were preparing for a larger party and moved chairs and tables around us throughout the dinner. Not exactly a a pleasant dinner.

Vaertshuset Baerums Verk

Norway's oldest restaurant, built in 1640. Vaertshuset is a classic and timeless place, a real guest house with real commitment. Norwegian gourmet menu. The old barn has been renovated and can be booked for private dinners for up to 50 persons.

We celebrated my wife’s birthday at Vaertshuset Baerums Verk, for the first time in many years. If possible, it was even better than the last time! The place is very rustic, it claims to be the oldest eating place in Norway. It’s a beautiful old building, filled with priceless antiques from daily life in this part of Norway. The food is very sophisticated and elegant, apart from also tasting excellent. The wine list is very impressive and should satisfy the most eager wine-buff.The staff is very friendly and helpful.A perfect setting for a very special birthday. But a little warning: It’s very expensive (but worth the money!).If you have the opportunity, do go! But I recommend that you order a table in advance.tusen takk for en hyggelig tilbakemelding og velkommen igjen.
