Semsvannet Lake

Reviewed By Cassiel_Agrippa - Asker, Norway

What's not to love about this lake and its' surroundings? It has been declared the Thousand Year Place by the people of Asker. In the summer time people come here to swim, sunbathe, walk around, run around, explore the nature, climb the adjacent Skaugumsåsen hill, visit the Tveiter or Berg farms, see the water fall, or enjoy a coffee and waffles at the Nakuhel cafe. In the winter time you can ski across the lake, or ice bathe in it, or use it as a starting point for dozens of ski routes. And so much more. It's like a park, beach, gym, Promenade, adventure land and cafe rolled into one. It's Semsvannet!

Oslofjordmuseet

Reviewed By Corto_M - Oslo

I do like this museum. It is great for those who are into sailing, boats or local maritime culture, and it should be interesting for many more. It is very family friendly. This modern museum has a beautiful location in the village of Vollen, near a nice public area by the coast with a well maintained beach.
Note that you can arrive by public ferry from the centre of Oslo, and arrive close to the doorstep of this museum. There are also public busses to Asker and to Oslo, going by Blakstad terminal, but I would recommend arriving by ferry if you can.

Sandvika Storsenter

Reviewed By david1949 - Adelaide, Australia

Only 10 minutes from Central Oslo, with free parking for 3 hours or 3 minutes walk from Sandvika railway station, this is the place for those needing a shopping fix.
With nearly 200 shops and plenty of casual eating options, there is plenty of scope for a few hours downtime. There is also a huge Meny supermarket if you want to stock up on some local delicacies.
Lots of clothing, shoes, homewares, hardware, H&M, pretty well all the big Scandanavian names.
It is a sprawling building, over 5 floors and actually crosses over a highway at one point. Just next door is a Thon Hotel and Conference Centre,
Opening hours are Mon - Fri 10am - 9pm, Sat. 10am - 7 pm, closed Sundays.

Musikkflekken Concert Venue

This venue is most of all intimate with a total of less the 500 pax capacity. Nice staff. One drawback, not even nuts in the bar, just drinks. Musikkflekken often have good Norwegian and international artists. One funny thing about the men's room, the paper towels is not by the sink, they are by the urinale ;)
