Perkins Restaurant & Bakery

This was absolutely the best breakfast I have ever had in my life and let me tell you I'm old. After 25 years in food service, the main reason I eat out is because I'm lazy. My expectations are as good as or better than I could do myself. Today's experience was over the top as perfection was achieved! Pam's (our server) nametag said she was the assistant manager. My wife ordered the Brioche French Toast which was very satisfying and I ordered the Everything Omelet with crispy hashbrowns and firm eggs. Back in the kitchen, Andre and Alfredo went to work and produced two works of art! The hashbrowns were crispy and the best I have ever eaten. The omelet was perfect and again the best I have ever eaten. My wife loved her French Toast and the best she's had! It was a great morning and a fantastic way to start our day thanks to the power team of Pam, Andre, and Alfredo!

Upper Crust Pizza & Hoagies

As a New Englander whose spoiled on pizza, this place is excellent. The crust is between thin and thick, and the sauce is excellent (the spices really come out). Prices are good, but there are always specials on their website. The cook time could be faster though as my order was 25 minutes and I had to wait an additional 10 minutes on a slow day.

Our story began in 1972 when two Cousins, Bill Specht and Jim Sheppard, set out to bring their favorite style of sub sandwich from the East Coast to their new hometown of Milwaukee, Wis. Staying true to our founders’ legacy of Better Bread. Better Subs.,

My spouse and I have been enjoying Cousins subs for over 40 years. The new Glendale location heralded a new building, expansive parking and a new sub making process. Over the past 5 to 10 years, new Cousins customers have been patronizing the chain expecting a Subway experience, e.g. a customized sub. Cousins responded, and began offering subs customized with additional veggies, cheeses and bacon. The traditional Cousins customers patronized the chain because they enjoyed the original "recipes" and eschewed any customization. This is the category that my spouse and I mostly land in. Over 40 years of ordering Ham and Provolone, Specials, and Cheese Steaks, the only customization that we have requested has been limited to EZ onion and EZ mayo. Our last experience with a Cousins location that employed the Subway style assembly line was a quirky but an ultimately successful endeavor. Regrettably, the experience at the new Glendale location was anything but successful.Instead of ordering at the cash register, I headed to be beginning of the "assembly line". The two young women taking orders failed to repeat my order back to me correctly after four back and forth exchanges. I repeatedly asked for 3 cheese steaks, all with EZ onion and one with green pepper and jalepenos, to be eaten in the restaurant. After I repeated that for about the fifth time and they had exhausted all of the their prior erroneous combinations, e.g. all three EZ onion, one with green pepper and one with jalepeno. they were ready to prepare the order. I headed down to the register to pay up with little event other than nearly forgetting to retrieve my chip credit card from the chip reader. The alert cashier pointed out the card sticking out of the chip reader, which I promptly retrieved and headed to our table in the all new seating area on the other side of a shoulder high glass and wood wall. The presence of Sprecher Root Beer on tap convinced me to upgrade from water to Sprecher's rich soft drink. The space age programmable drink dispenser was completely out of ice cubes, so I resolved to consume a warmer than desired cup of root beer that would not get watered down. Regrettably, the Sprecher tap was dispensing the equivalent of a wild keg, spewing all manner of foam and a few ounces in my 14 oz plastic cup. We had to return 4 times to get the equivalent of a full cup of the beverage. After 10 minutes or so, my first name was called, and upon gazing at the caller, I noted she had one of my three subs in hand wrapped, not placed in a serving pan to eat in as I had ordered. The dismay quickly turned to sub rage when I discovered they had filled the order with Chicken Cheese Steaks. I ordered their original Cheese Steak not the pretender sandwich that was created for patrons who eschew red meat and the sandwich that was the lone Cheese Steak offering for the better part of 35 years. The correct sandwiches had to be made from scratch. I went back to our booth in disgust. Moments later I was offered a complementary soda, which I politely refused, already having had enough challenge trying to obtain sufficient amounts of tapped Sprecher Root Beer from a wild keg. 10 minutes later my name was called once again and two cheesesteaks were handed to me on aluminum serving pans. Where was the third sub? I nearly roared. Magically, the sandwich wrapper that presented the wrapped incorrect Chicken Cheese Steaks earlier, presented the third Cheese Steak, and off to our booth I went, now some 30 minutes after placing the original order. In spite of the delays and frustration with the muti-factorial order screw up, all three Cheese Steaks were fabulous. Excellent bread flavor and crustiness along with very fresh veggies and marvelously tasty grilled steak. We had no trouble finishing 1-1/2 cheese steaks each. I cannot recall a single instance of an order fulfillment error in 40 years of eating Cousins subs. Then again, I never tried customizing what was originally great When you can't get the first step in the process correct - the patron's order, everything that comes after can be for naught. The Subway style assembly line as adapted at the Glendale Cousins location, will need some marked improvement before it can match the virtually flawless performance of the original sub making process designed by the founders of Cousins Subs in 1972.

Wow... that's all.. obviously free cheese tasting, literally 100's of cheeses. We got the ghost pepper and Diablo ones, also got Farmers (to stop the burning). Prices are very reasonable and the staff was very friendly. Parking was an issue since I didn't know the area. The store is definitely worth the trip!!!!
