Love the food and service and hate the fact that I'm probably going to gain weight because I must come here on a regular basis. After returning from Miami I had to find a Cuban sandwich. I was TD to come here by several people and I know why. The empanadas con guyaba y queso are excellent! Affordable prices. Will be back..... Soon

Went there last night with my family. Both my wife and daughter had the Bistec encebollado and Mofongo, my son had the bistec encebollado with white rice and beans and I had the Sancocho. The food was fantastic, and believe me, we are very picky. Service was on point. We were served by three people. Very sweet and polite. Its the fist time we've been there, so not sure how it is all the time, but if in the Newark area and you want to explore some really good Puerto Rican food, Tainos is the place.

This was a surprising little find! We stopped for dinner on Saturday evening and had the stewed goat over rice which was great! They do deliveries and takeout but we ate in, which there are only three tables. The parking lot is also very small around the back of the restaurant. Because of the parking situation and tiny dining area, is why the "Very Good" instead of "Excellent" rating. The staff is really nice and the price was great. Under $20- for two! Will definitely return.

The restaurant is very nice and clean. We were seated quickly. I love cuban food for its boiled yuca with mojo. They cooked the yuca to perfection and the mojo was delicious. other restaurants I have visited undercooked the yuca and that was not the case here. I was a happy camper.I ordered the Bistec de Pollo a la Plancha. Big piece of chicken but lacked the mojo sauce flavor. If you order this dish, ask for some mojo sauce on the side. My son had the Chicharron de pollo. He liked it a lot. It also could have used a little more mojo sauce. My wife had the vegetariano llego which was a sampler appetizer that was too much food. She really liked it. The black beans and rice were delicious while the maduros were delicious and cooked to perfection. Food was reasonably priced and definitely worth visiting.Tip: free valet parking.
