They make a good latte; Iâll give them that. And the little lemon tart I had was nice enough but the place itself is nothing to write home about. Thereâs nothing bad about it per se but nothing particularly aesthetic about it either.Sadly, the service is rather shocking.My 9 year old was really hungry and the menu is quite limited. But there was some egg and bacon wrap with basil pesto. Like most 9 year olds, mine is a finicky eater so I asked if I could have that but if we could do away with the pesto and the wrap and just have the egg and bacon on a plate and I got a rather terse ânoâ followed by something to the effect of âwe only do wraps, we donât do breakfast on a plateâ. I was rather taken aback but I thought perhaps the wraps were pre-made and just heated through. So I asked if it was done in a way that I would be able to take the egg and bacon out for her. I was then shown a Greek pita and told that it all went in there and was just folded over. So I asked if I could have it without the basil pesto. This, they were happy to accommodate. However, as I went to pay, I saw one being made and the egg was fried. I had assumed it was scrambled and as my daughter canât eat runny yolks, I apologised for being âdifficultâ and asked if the egg could be scrambled. But again, I got quite a terse ânoâ. I thought I might still get a ânoâ when I asked if I could cancel the order but she quite happily accepted that.In fairness, I would have understood if I was asking for something that rendered the whole process more difficult but I wasnât. And generally, I find food outlets very accommodating where children are concerned, but not so here!

Dropped in for a coffee first time. Very polite and friendly staff. Not much room to sit inside so we had to do take away. Good coffee. Good temperature

We stopped off at Beechworth on the way to Brae Restaurant which is in southern Victoria. We were looking for breakfast quite early on the Saturday morning. The town was very quiet as it was a cold winters morning and not much open . Found Granite Cafe which was buzzing with locals and found out why . The service was cheery and quick and the food was good - eggs Benedict , good poached eggs with the best crispy bacon .Hey, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Great coffee. Great service. Eclectic range of produce and wines. Wouldnât come here for breakfast as menu is fairly limited but perfect for a coffee stop or lunch.Thanks Oliverd for the great review, yes breakfast isnt really our thing but what we do a great lunch and wine and cheese platters latter in the day. I was not disappointed by the tea. Loose leaf Earl Grey Tea of excellent quality.The tea rooms look a tad cluttered and over stuffed with things and nic naks, which made me sit and wonder about how tiring it must be to do all that dusting . .... But there was no faultjng the tea or the beautiful way it is served. Will I return , yes , i will.
