It's here, in Beechworth, that our bakery and our traditions began. Steeped in history as this town - and this region - is, it's a great place to live, work and visit. Making the most of two historic buildings sitting side by side right in the centre of town, the original Beechworth Bakery was established in 1984. Since then the bakery has carried on the original vision and passion for customer service and quality product, which runs through the foundation of all our bakeries. We indulged in a Canadian slice which is almost a healthy treat but very yummy and I took an apple strudel home. So good. The pastry is flaky, crisp and perfect and warmed with a dollop of cream couldn't be better. Staff were friendly and helpful. A shop just brimming with every treat imaginable.

We ended up here because the Chinese restaurant was booked out. Really glad that we ate here, the food was obviously made from scratch and as a result was really tasty.
The staff were all really friendly and despite it being completely packed out they made sure we got our meals as quickly as humanly possible and were really pleasant doing it.
It is pub food in a pleasant atmosphere and reasonably priced.
We felt really comfortable there and everyone seemed to be having a great night. Kids, families, couples and singles.
Off the main street near The Armour Inn Motel, it was a great find and we will happily go back again.

Amazing food. Wife had the burger. Best she's ever had. Perfectly cooked. Melted cheese. I had the beef cheek. Delicious sauces, Apple coleslaw which complemented the dish, and greasy potatos. Relaxed environment. Safe for famille

Had the degustation dinner, one with wine. The matching was generally good, however the sake didn't really complement but otherwise beautiful wines to try. The food was exceptional, all dishes quite unique in very pleasant surrounds. Probably one of the best experiences I have had. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Book just to make sure you can get a table as it's not a big place. Also at this time of year the restaurants in Beechworth take turns on having holidays. You're made to feel very welcome with just the right amount of attention and then left to savour your food. We had excellent pasta dishes but every time a steak came out you heard sounds of expectation from the table! It's not cheap but it will be remembered. The owners made a good move from Melbourne.

We had my mother's birthday dinner out at Tanswell's and every meal we ordered was terrific. The children's meals were fabulous with chips and green salad. We bought our own birthday cake which was easily dealt with. I'd recommend this pub to anyone wanting a tasty night out.

Devonshire and Pikelet teas are available all day everyday. We have a large range of home cooked sweet treats (Cakes, biscuits and slices). Moments & Memories Tea Room also has it own range of speciality tea, all available for you to take home with you or dine in. We also carry a range of home made preserves and jams (all made in house). If your looking for that extra special treat why not book one of our high teas. (At least 48 hours notice required). A selection of bite size sweets, savouries and finger sandwiches, served on tiered plates plus a drink of your choice.

We loved our visit here. Cute tea rooms, with hundreds of teapots and tea cups to look at and a few to buy. Owner was nice and friendly. The lunch was ok. The salad was unusual - kiwi fruit, beetroot, tomatoes, lettuce, carrots....The Devonshire tea was very nice- good scones and very big selection of teas to choose from. Next time I'd come just for afternoon or morning tea. We enjoyed our visit very much.

We had take away and the food was amazing. Could not fault it. Fast friendly service. Don't miss visiting this Restaurant if you are in Town. Wonderful ambiance, great for families or couples.

Called in for breakfast with friends on our first morning in Beechworth, had scrambled eggs and bacon. The best I have ever tasted. The second morning took more friends and had the best raspberry and white chocolate muffin ever. We will all be back here on our next visit to Beechworth.
