HiMy wife and I ate at the Corner Sunday morning for breakfast as we have been doing every 3-4 months for a couple of years. We were quite surprised at the price increase in food, particularly 55 cents for one teaspoon of honey I had with my tea.I think we will go and buy breakfast ingredients at a supermarket and cook nice and fresh at home.Mike and Jo

Craft beers, Joel with tales to tell and the alluring exterior fairy lights. What was not to love about our visit to this hidden gem? An impressive wine list and the pork belly with brussel sprouts on the side topped off a great evening for us.

Beautiful water front restaurant over looking the Hastings River, come by boat, car or seaplane and enjoy our fresh local produce. Open Lunch and dinner 7 days.
This place reminded us a little of Ricky Ricardo's at Noosa, but left a lot to be desired. It's right on the river and the food was great but we were unfamiliar with the wines by-the-glass on the wine list so asked for a little taste. We were told 'no' - we couldn't try any of the wines. We've NEVER been to a restaurant (and we dine out very often) - especially a fine-dining restaurant, where we couldn't try an unfamilar wine; after all, it's just a mouthfull. So one of us ordered a glass of wine on spec (at a premium price so you'd think it would be great) and the other refused any alcohol based on their miserly attitude. The wine was disappointing and arrived quite a while after the entree. The service also left a lot to be desired. On the whole. it's a pretty amateur operation. The service and penny-pinching ruined what should have been a really enjoyable lunch. So there's another restaurant to cross off our local favourites list :(

good coffee, good food, good people, good God I'll see ya there!
We shared the chef's selection, which consisted of five courses. Their menu selection was outstanding, especially the blending of ingredients that I have never experienced before. They use local produce as far as possible. Their slow-cooked meats were truly melt-in-your mouth. The wine list was minimal, barely adequate. Decor was basic - definitely not fine dining. Their use of local produce cooked extremely well is their attraction.

The blending of a cellar door with a restaurant enables patrons to enjoy the best of both worlds that food and wine has to offer. The location brings together a total experience and only a short distance from Port Macquarie. Now also open on Friday nights
Birthday lunch for my wife....and well deserved! Friendly welcome from helpful staff. The menu was about to be changed for the winter selection but the current choice was good. I had mussels, albeit NZ and not black but they were nicely cooked and well presented. Wife had escargots and was happy with them. I followed with chicken and seafood caesar salad which was interesting, whilst the wife had chicken cooked sous vide....she thought it excellent. We had a glass of unwooded chardonnay each followed by a very good shiraz....all produced on the property. We bought 2 bottles of shiraz and it travels well! We haven't been here for some years but won't wait so long next time. Good value, well presented and friendly service. Recommended.

We came here for dinner with our kids on a Saturday night at about 6:45 pm. Waited a few minutes for a table which was no problem. The place is small but pretty cool and has that street food atmosphere. The staff were nice and organised a table for our big family. We got some drinks while we had a look over the menu. This is where the problem occurred. We probably took 10 minutes or so to decide and asked the staff a question or two about certain dishes and during this time there was no conversation about unavailable menu items. When we went to order we were promptly told several (3 or 4 from memory) items we ordered were unavailable as they had run out. We asked to substitue a few of the items as we wanted to order the sharing plate, however, this request was met with a swift NO. We ordered alternatives and make no mistake the food was awesome, I would not hesitate coming here again for the food. Why I have given only a 3 from 5 rating is because of the lack of attention to detail to customer service. So here are my suggestions.1. If menu items are unavailable then please make sure your staff inform customers prior to being seated and buying drinks. I made this known at the time and I do believe one of the staff members started doing this. Alternatively, place a notice up in an easily seen location.2. If there are items unavailable then be flexible enough to adjust items like sharing plates to suit.3. If all else fails then have your staff apologise for any inconvenience rather than deliver a flat NO.4. Saturday nights are probably one of your busiest nights, plan a bit better and don't run out.Hopefully this was a minor glitch in what appears to be a well run establishment and I will not allow this mistake to influence any future visits I may make...the food is way too good.Hey Rod, Sorry about your experience, it's no excuse but it was the school holidays and the busiest night of the week. We had a huge day and did run out of some items. We pride ourselves on making everything as fresh and from scratch. As a general rule of thumb (it's on our menu) we don't substitute or change items, but 100% agree that this was a unique situation, as we had run out. Sorry we let you down, we do appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us and we're glad you enjoyed the food.

Café focusing on LOCAL, fresh and all homemade. After falling in love with all things farming, we purchased 450 chickens & a chicken caravan to supply us directly to the cafe. Our hens live an awesome life out on fresh pasture. When theyâre not laying egg
Food is lovely and well presented, prices are good and the coffee is excellent. The service is slow and they got a few things like drink orders wrong. Would go back but they really need too over haul there service staff to improve overall.

This is a nice restaurant but requires some refinements. Firstly the waiters need some basic training on what is on the menu. When asked what di oes the meal come with? I do not expect the waiter to start reading the menu out loud to me. As i said I ca read. Gluten free availability should now be a basic.. Serving fish on soup bowls is ridiculous as it spoils the dinng experience as it is difficult to use a knife and fork.Waiter forgot chips which are really needed. Food was good but brocolli was raw to rare which is not how it should be,Hi @eddie2610! Thanks for taking the time to review your experience with us; although we are saddened to hear of so many aspects of your experience that displeased you. Please kindly note that our team is fully trained on our menu and service standards with most of our team having been long serving members of our business - however, entering our busier period we are in the process of hiring new team members who will need time to adjust to all aspects of service - which we are happy to encourage. Please also note that our menu is mostly gluten free and we are always happy to accommodate any dietary requirements with reasonable prior notice. All the best, The Team at Bills Fishhouse & Bar

We came here on a cold night hoping for something special. We were not disappointed. The waitstaff were prompt, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food was outstanding. I started with a scampi special recommended by the waiter- the scampi were sweet and perfectly paired with beautiful accompaniments. My husband had the scampi linguini which he said was amazing. The mains, venison and tooth fish, were both delightful, again served with accompaniments that brought out the best in the star of the dish. I didnât mean to eat dessert but the waiter recommended the caramel as a light dessert, and he was right. A perfect end to a perfect meal.
