What a find. Like previous reviews, don't judge a book by its cover! Walked in and immediately greeted with a smile and g'day from the locals. Hubby had pizza, I had surf and turf. Wow! Everything was fresh, beyond our expectations and the staff were very accomodating. Love the outback hospitality. City folk could learn a lot from these small towns doing it tough in times of drought.

In town for just one night in October on a trip south to NSW, not staying at Club Boutique but having read TripAdvisor reviews and looking at their website husband and I decided this would be a very nice place to eat. Interesting menu selection of wines and beers etc etc.Arrived earlyish just after 6pm, corner doors to restaurant were open and a couple of ladies maybe local already having a drink in the corner. Totally underwhelmed after that. Tables were not dressed, advised by the really nice lady behind the bar that they were on a basic menu, literally 4 main courses to choose from fish, steak, something else and a something else (my words ! I can't remember what the other two choices were). Made our choices which were cooked to order, husband then asked for one of the beers that was on tap at the bar to then be told nothing actually on tap at the moment so he chose something bottled from the bar fridge. Now let me make it clear staff were great, meals were lovely, given it was still about 34 Celsius outside would've appreciated the air con running and it would have been nice to have had a table that had been wiped down rather than still being covered with salt sprinkles from a previous occupant. As we sat waiting for our meals I mouthed to my husband "I have no idea what's going on" purely because what we were getting was so far removed from what we were expecting I literally felt like we had walked in through the wrong door. But as we left having had two nice/average meals I had to look over my shoulder to read the sign above the door to see that I was at the Club Boutique Hotel, had we walked through the wrong door ? was the actual restaurant in anther part of the building ?. It left us with the feeling that either the regular chef had gone on holiday, or was it a basic menu as we were there in low tourist season, or that they were closing down or maybe there was a change of owner and everything was being reorganised. I'm sure there will be more good reviews for this venue long after mine, maybe we were just unlucky that day !!

Firstly, hats off to our bartender for the night who was rostered on alone, handling everyone in bar, pokies and dining orders and takeaways on a busy Thursday night - we wished he had someone helping him, but he remained upbeat & cheerful and served everyone with a smile. A couple of nicely cooked porterhouse surf & turfs for dinner rounded off a really pleasant night. Not a lot of wines available by the bottle for dinner in the bar, but we were happily allowed to buy a bottle in their bottle shop to consume in the pub with our meal.Great pub guys! Excellent bartender!Hi FuudTrip,Thank You for your review. We get a lot of positive feedback about the staff from our guests. They work very hard to ensure you have the best possible experience even when it's very busy (and it usually is!) Look forward to seeing you next time. Warm Regards,Richard (on behalf of the Warrego Hotel Motel Team)
