Loved by Lonely Planet and by whoever was lucky enough to find it, Daw Yi is surely the best Burmese restaurant in the city, and one of the most amazing of the entire country. The mutton curry is particularly delightful: choose from the vast range of dishes the one that inspires you most (meat, fish or vegetable) along with some rice. You won't regret your choice! The restaurant is particularly difficult to find: take Strand road heading south and at some point ask some locals -it's quite known. And by the way, it is very very cheap, even for the Burmese standars: you'll find it difficult to spend more than 2,500 kyats each!

I was grateful that they chill the Beer Steins, before chugging them up to the brim. Delicious cold, cold beer. 100% Chilled. NICE!!!The BBQ concept is interesting. Stick to the vegetarian stuff and Buffalo and you won't get sick. It's mainly beer snacks, to help you soba up and then buy more beer. It was just an open allotment of land on the waterfront but great to chill in the afternoon heat, at sunset, with friends over a few pints.Reasonably priced. Myanmar is not like anywhere else.

They have really good Asian dishes (just not the pad Thai!) and excellent coffee and fresh juice. It's a shame that they don't have breakfast with coffee that good. They could make a killing if they just offered fried eggs and toast! We were disappointed in the morning, but their watercress and garlic made up for it at dinner!

I really love Mon traditional cuisines and foods available in this restaurant. The taste is in genuine Mon style. I recommend this restaurant to all of my friends who wanna try Mon cuisines. :-)

Great spot to go, especially if your vegetarian. I was served a huge plate of food with many delicious vegetarian options and the had it refilled all for about 1.25$ (USD). The staff doesn't speak the best English but enough to order and function. The food is delicious and very quickly served as they are constantly cooking it right next door. G around mid day for lunch and you will leave very satisfied.

Decent place on the river. Lots of locals, so that's always a good sign. The tomato salad was the best one I've had here in Myanmar, so far. The banana shakes were really good and fresh. Cheap, easy and fast. Close to Breeze Guesthouse. Good for vegetarians

Great Myanmar food, fresh fish, staff are speaking good English but most of all, it is very clean -- not just inside the restaurant but also its nearby surrounding. Eating on a restaurant riverbank may sound like very romantic and charming but unfortunately the riverbank are full of waste, we saw a dead puppy floating on it. This restaurant is located across the road from riverbank and on the quiet part of town.

As a fussy 'club sandwich' sort of guy, this is the best I have found - dare I say - in Myanmar! + the cafe latte was very good + the lemon grass drink was superbly refreshing.

One of the Best Traditional Mon Restaurant in Mawlamyine. Very delicious and tasty at very reasonable price. Service is great and. Staffs are very friendly. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner. Our group of 6 adults and 3 kids ordered 10 dish and drinks so guess how much will cost ? 55000 Kyats only !!!
