Reviewed By Kingpaul100Tryp hotel is in a great location opposite the port of Melilla. However it is now looking rather dated and would benefit from a refurb for sure ! There is visible damage to parts of the exterior where concrete is falling away ! Staff are efficient and friendly. Rooms comfortable but dated decor.

Simple but good service, great location
Reviewed By Sandy SMy room was simple but clean, and the service exceeded my expectations for a budget property. Thanks to a 24-hour front desk, I was able to check in late, and the hotel even sent a cab to meet my 12:30 a.m. ferry from Malaga. The dining room was closed, but several nice little coffee shops nearby served breakfast. The location couldn't be beat -- three blocks from the castle in one direction, the stunning array of Modernist buildings in the other.

Located in a great position overlooking the port and bay of Melilla- the downside is the steep up hill walk back from town centre ! Staff are just wonderful and they make your stay here rather special. Refurbished bedrooms and stylish and very comfortable. Hotel very Covid-19 friendly and compliant. Feels very safe to stay here. Lovely swimming pool in grounds.

Major Disappointment
Reviewed By KBerrechidI booked this hotel with my family because I had an early flight out of Melilla airport and what a disappointment it was. I was greeted by an unfriendly lady who spoke only Spanish and tried to charge me for my kids even though the reservation was for two adults and two kids. She then gave me a “suite” on the 5th floor and I had to carry my family’s luggage between the 4th and 5th floors because the elevator only went up to 4th. The room had a king size bed and a sofa bed with no sheets or pillows. We had to make the kids’ bed with a comforter and a spare pillow ourselves. In the morning, before check out, an even grumpier male worker who also insisted on speaking only Spanish fussed about calling a taxi for us and seemed to delight in the fact that no one picked up when he finally called. I had to walk three blocks to flag one. He never bothered to say goodbye nor apologize for the inconvenience. Very disappointing indeed.

Fractionally better than a condemned Army barracks.
Reviewed By vic9921I chose this hotel because I was on a tight budget, but it's expensive for what it is - basically a doss house. It is old and tatty, and only superficially cleaned. The reception staff are curt rather than rude. The Wifi only works in the lobby. There are two electrical sockets in the room, one for the TV, and one for the fridge. The air con does work but the balcony door has dropped on its hinges and doesn't shut. The wardrobe door doesn't shut. There is no safe in the room and I returned to find the cleaners had left the room open but were not in sight. A large structural steel column rises through the room. The tiles on the floor are chipped and groutless. The booked double room ended up being two singles and in no way resembled the advertised photos. There is no way I can recommend this hotel.
