This is a very small restaurant, and it fills up quickly at lunchtime. Either go early or late to be sure of a table. ( Many customers seem to carry out, too.) Mom and I got the shrimp kabobs and ordered an extra skewer of shrimp each. Between the delicious Greek salad and the two sides, we had plenty of food for lunch that day and leftovers for the next day.

Sampled Greek salads at two other restaurants this past week and had been informed that Dimitri's had a decent serving also, so we tried it. In my opinion there was MUCH too much romaine lettuce coupled with about two cherry tomato pieces, a couple pieces of regular cucumber (as opposed to the English variety), two Kalamara olives with pits, a small smattering of feta cheese crumbles and a hint of red onion in a somewhat flavorful olive oil dressing. We topped this with fried calamari that was tasty and warm. Our other entree was the moussaka dish that was of a nice portion and okay in flavor. Since there are so many different versions of moussaka it is difficult to describe flavors as each taste depends upon the preferences of the diner. The decor in the dining room is bright and decorative. Outdoor seating is also available. A full alcoholic beverage selection is on site with non-alcoholic beer.

We stumbled upon this cafe when exiting the B&O Train Museum. The building is charming and the menu is interesting. The staff was lovely considering we were dining with two little ones. The souvlaki was delicious and the coffee aroma is intoxicating. Save room for dessert. The cookies are the size of frisbees and the Nutella croissant was incredible. Prices are not cheap but the quality and ambience are worth it.

Xenia Greek Kouzina

Five stars all the way around for Xenia's décor, service and food. Couldn't believe we were dining in Columbia in such an upscale restaurant. Our table for four in the bar area overlooking the kitchen and the wonderful fish display (pick your own fish for dinner) was perfect and a low decibel level - great for conversation. Lucky for us we were there for happy hour with all appetizer choices at $7 (large enough to share) and wine by the glass (nice pours) also $7. Among our selections were Kalamarkia, Sliders, Souvlaki, Dolmadakia and not to mention the complimentary pita and olives provided when you're seated. As an after dinner surprise, a complimentary bowl of Greek donuts (Louukoumades) - filled with liquid honey - AMAZING! Xenia should be on everybody's list in Howard County.
