Ristrutturato di recente ha buone camere silenziose, personale disponibile ed una colazione ottima, con prodotti del luogo.... Ricotta, 3 varietà di formaggi e salumi, oltre tanto altro. Lo consiglio caldamente. P. S. Terrazzo attrezzato per godersi il fresco ed una birra.

Reviewed By kneesanThis is a well appointed, spotlessly clean, comfortable hotel with excellent access to the hiking trails in the center of Portugal. This hotel also has lovely outdoor swimming pool where you can swim laps and a decent restaurant. Excellent value!

Amazing conditions in the heart of the mountain
Reviewed By RTLBorgesThis small place in the center of Manteigas is run by a couple that will gratefully welcome you in their house. The rooms are super clean and the breakfast is delightful!! Besides these conditions its still possible to go to a room outside to take a deep look in the mountains all around you or to the common room to watch tv. With no doubt is a place to stay if you want to know the trails all around the mountain and Serra da Estrela!!

Reviewed By klangtestWe spent two nights here and left a night early. The reasons are various, and to be fair to the hotel I should list them. - We came to walk in the Serra de Estrela mountains, but the weather was appalling, so no dice. The Alojamento, which backs onto the main road, is one of two establishments in the same location, the other being a very modern boutique hotel directly in front. We were on the top floor of the old building, so with a fine view of the village and mountains from the dormer window. But on the ground floor you'll see only glass and concrete. The place is not in any way signposted from the road beyond the Manteigas city limits and Google was not our friend, so it really took some finding. There is alas no easy or safe way back to the village on foot along the main road. There is an "inland" path which is good until the last very steep and flinty ascent to the village, something you'd not want to do at night. The staff in the adjacent modern Hotel da Fábrica (which is where you check in and have an excellent buffet breakfast) were without exception very professional, kind, helpful and multilingual. Not wanting to drink and drive, we instead had very good and well-priced wine in the reception area, there being no hotel bar as such. The adjacent Alojamento, a classic C19 (or earlier) stone building with much original furniture, has rather basic rooms and bed, and may feel a touch oppressive for some guests. The WiFi booster did not get a signal to our bedroom at the end of the corridor. The Alojamento is marked as pet-friendly. On our second night a couple arrived with small dog, who was not best pleased to be left alone in their room. Little to be done about that, and I must say here that I am not a dog-lover. Much more difficult was the enormous and very young mastiff roaming around the whole outside area unchained. Apparently un-aggressive, but with a bark fit to wake the dead, at all hours, and at times directly below our room, and large enough - it seems - to be able to knock over a grown adult. You can forget about sitting quietly outside at the little table on the terrace. I've never encountered a canine situation like this in a hotel in decades of travel world-wide. If you are dog-tolerant, good luck, but if this makes you at all nervous, a stay here will be hugely stressful and it might be better, sadly, to STAY WELL AWAY.

Reviewed By trevorj463Had an overnight stop here 14th October 2019. We found the facilities and room very modern. Staff most helpful with parking right outside the front door. Dinner at the restaurant was exceptionally good with a very hearty breakfast offered the next morning. Considering the price was very reasonable we highly recommend this as a place to stay in the beautiful Manteigas area.

Reviewed By moxxxxxWe had such a wonderful stay at Casa Mariolas. The room with balcony is beautiful (quiet and good mattress) with a fantastic view to the valley. Big breakfast with local cheese and homemade jams, fresh fruit and very nice bread. Daniele gave us such good tips for hiking, swimming and eating out. She seemed to know exactly what we were looking for. One of our best stays during our holiday in Portugal! Hope to come back one day to do some climbing.

Reviewed By Sarah WWe were lucky to find Alfatima still had room left when we arrived late in Manteigas without any reservation. They have spacious and clean room with a great view of the village center. It locates around twenty minutes walking from the village center, but the center is not our main interest of the visit anyway. And the breakfast, definitely the highlight (for dining) of the whole trip in Portugal! The owner is also very friendly and helpful with our questions and requests. I'll definitely recommend this guest house to my friends.

Beautiful antiques throughout
Reviewed By John MThis is a very old hotel in the lovely city of Manteigas. We had a hard time finding it, and two policemen graciously had us follow their car to it. The hotel was chock full of the most beautiful inlaid wood antiques, the furniture of the owners. Our room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was most enjoyable in the beautiful dining room. The host was gracious and gave us a tin of olive oil produced by the owners on their farm.
