Lovely place, great staff very friendly, staff worked hard. The two guys made you feel very welcomed.Nice location to have a drink and a game of pool.The atmosphere is great, the decor in the bar is fantastic ( wooden pallets), just loved the idea, had a rustic feel Some thing different. As a family of four this restaurant offered fantastic tasting food at what I would say an amazing price!! My children are not your childrenâs meal children!! Opting for salmon, curry etc the menu was very varied and they toned down down my spice levels for me !!The chef also made a personal visit to our table to make sure all was god !!!!!!! In all well worth a visit or 2

We arrived late to our hotel so 120 seemed the answer.We were fed and watered,the manager was very helpful.We ordered drinks and a meal.The meal was prepared by our hotel and was super.We ordered a chicken Caesar Salad and a Smoked Salmon Salad.Both were plentiful and fresh.The bar itself caters for all those who like sport in particular football,there are TVs ab=nd a screen to view the matches,along with a Pool table. Not many places to eat in Golden Bay but this restaurant is conveniently located between the bus stop and the beach. It's big and offers a (rather predictable) selection of mostly Italian-style vacation favourites: pastas, pizzas, salads, some meat and fish dishes. We had mixed opinions about our food but agreed that it was on the bland and average side.All in all I'd say it's OK for a quick, simple beachside lunch.

This restaurant was a small wrap around terrace to eat outside, and is quite popular. We found the food a mixed bag of good and ordinary.We ordered a Lasagne, which was dreadful and totally lacking in flavour, not enough cheese and no tomato flavour. Also we ordered Chilli Con Carne which just wasn't spicey. As well as those two dishes, we ordered a Pulled Pork Burger which although too full to pick up was very good, and a Grilled Chicken Breast which was simple but very nice.I was disapointed to receive a very flat pint of Strongbow, although it was nicely chilled.

We came here for after dinner drinks and there was a pleasant surprise for is . Each evening the hotel has different artists playing live music outside there were plenty of free chairs and the drinks were ordered and swerved promptly - try the white Bacardi which was a local one drinks are very generous sizes if you ask for a double - the staff were polite enough and keen to please - enjoy the lovely views and setting - in the afternoon they offer high English tea and the cappuccino are great . Recommended for family - did not try the food here although they have a varied menu

have been going to this bar long before the current owners always a nice friendly atmosphere not any more can't get to bar for people sat in the way staff only like to serve the regulars .This is not the first time this has been the case but it will be the last won't be going again which is a shame as it used to be a lovely place but all good things come to an end especially when the customer is not valued my money can be spent anywhere .Im sorry to hear this but for us all clients are the same and we try to serve all of our clients the best possible.What was the date of visit pls?ThanksOwner

Would highly recommend the Ocean Bar.This is an amazing little restaurant, the service is just outstanding, and hospitality is fantastic.The meals are huge portions and great value for the prices too.Few times we used the Ocean Bar, and each time we got an excellent service.Compliments to the chef and to the waitress as they both worked very hard and to provide a excellent service for there customers.If any one goes out for meal go to the ocean bar well worth it....
