We arrived at Mellieha late on Thursday and needed a light dinner and found this gem. It is a true family restaurant with a matriarchal character, friendly service, lovely food and local wines. Really lovely meal of Lampuki and best chunky chips I have tasted in a long time. Pleasant side salad to complete the meal. And they took great care in having gluten free options including pasta and pizza.

Myself & my partner had the maltese board starter which had enough food to be shared between 4 easily, it had various cheeses, olives, tomatoes & breads etc and was lovely and tasty! I then had the seafood pasta which was brimming with king prawns, clams & mussels, very tasty and a huge serving of pasta with a light sauce of white wine & garlic which went perfectly with the seafood. Partner had the vegetarian ravioli and loved it, all the food was tasty and huge portions! Didn't have a pudding as we were too full but all options sounded and looked fantastic! 2 courses, a bottle of wine & a bottle of water was around 40 euros which we thought was well priced.Dear Guest,Primarily I would like to thank you for you kind feedback. We went to Tosca having seen the positive reviews from fellow Trip Advisors and were not disappointed. From the moment you walk into the restaurant the waiting team are exceptional and give a really high quality of service that really exceeds many of the other restaurants in the area.We had a pair of pasta dishes, one from the main menu and one from the specials, both were exceptional and presented beautifully. Be warned, portions are enormous so if you're after something more normal sized it may be worth asking for a starter portion. Desserts were presented beautifully and tasted delicious. I cannot stress enough that the quality of this restaurant is far beyond what you'd expect to see in a more traditional holiday resort. Added to that, for our two courses each and a bottle of wine the whole meal came to around 55 euros, which we felt was exceptional value given the quality. Amazing food and all ingredients are top quality and fresh. I tried the fish soup and Lampuki and was blown away. The owner himself gives you personal attention and you wouldn't be disappointed. He even picks you from from your hotel for FREE! Great business and I wish him all the best.

Another big e for excellent for both food and service. Little wonder that it was fully booked on the night of our visit and as many people without a booking were turned away as the number in the restaurant. Not the biggest of menus but this was definitely a case of quality over quantity.
