Our experience was the same as the previous review, except that the fish we chose was well cooked. Wine prices were eye watering for this kind of establishment, and the house wines the worst we have encountered in France for many years. I can only guess that the lunchtime menu offers better value and choice. We'd be most unlikely to return.

Nice little restaurant with a friendly couple running the place. They specialize in meat so not many fish choices. The beef was surprisingly tender, you can ask for some veggies and rice as a change to ubiquitous fries everywhere. There seemed to be quite a few locals, which is always a good sign. My only remark would be that the tea cup was very small, half-filled with water cooling oof very quickly - for a tea drinker like me that's a definite no-go.

The staff and food are excellent. We have donât speak French and the waiter had limited English, but enough to explain the menu. Our Google translate didnât work because the menu is handwritten on a blackboard! Wonderful food and drinks. The portions are large. We said next time we would skip the large starters and just go for a main, and maybe a desert. Highly recommended.

Excellent food, lovely atmosphere. Very simple exterior but nice relaxing interior decor. Catered beautifully for dairy allergy with no problem. Owner spoke good English so could translate menu choices well. Had an excellent evening and would recommend. Will definitely return on next visit to France.

Frankly what a great little find. We popped in, detour off the A16 on way back to Calais / Tunnel. This place was incredibly good: set menus are great value and the food is incredible: really tasty and cleverly cooked. My wife had prawns in filo, pork and ice cream for dessert. I had the fish, beef steak and profiterole. Every dish was great. We had a small caraffe of red wine and water: the whole thing cost Eur 66. Incredible food, incredible value. Already have it saved for future France trips when heading south from the tunnel....

We visited this restaurant after seeing the reviews on Tripadvisor. It did not disappoint, staff were extremely friendly and helped us translate items on the menu. The good was great my partner had the welsh burger and was not disappointed! Highly recommended when visiting Boulonge.

Needing a very late breakfast/early lunch (11.15) I remembered the strange hours at this simply excellent fish restaurant. The tempting daily lunch menu was not due to start till midday but I soon found the Boulonnais Breakfast which looked just what was needed. Light baguette, butter, jam, perfect freshly squeezed orange juice & lovely coffee started breakfast, but it segued into a lovely light lunch with a plate of 4 local smoked fish - 2 kinds of herring, pepper mackerel, salmon - with warm potatoes & mustard dressing, slice of white toast, creme fraiche with chives, lemon wedge. If I had been earlier it would have concluded with a pastry - but they had run out so I finished with more coffee. A perfect solution to my problem and would definitely do it again. Sit inside for atmosphere, though the glass-case part is very clean and fresh.

A group of friends travelled for the weekend to France to celebrate one of our 60thâs. He choose the restaurant and we paid!!We had a private room, and though the service was good, the food was not particularly exciting, and the sole that many had for the main was undercooked.Pretty expensive for what you got

Never been in a restaurant where the waiters smile so much. To say the service was friendly would be an understatement.The menu is a blackboard, which is patiently explained to you. Don't expert more than 4 mains to choose from, with 3 starters and desserts. However, the concept works where you have a small kitchen and the food is well prepared.A really buzzy atmosphere on market day.

We found this lovely bar a couple of blocks from our hotel. We'd already eaten but did enjoy the hospitality, the ambience and the Limoux which was the special wine by the glass. They even have a cosy smoking area.
