We are Hildebrandt's. A family-owned, German-inspired delicatessen with a heaping helping of Southern hospitality. We have character. We have style. Our wares and fare have been time-tested and Augusta-approved since 1879, when Nicholas Hildebrandt founde
We found this delightful restaurant through TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. It was built in 1879 and we got to meet the fourth generation family owner and operator. Food and atmosphere were great and the best German potato salad. We are so thankful for your 5-star review and we appreciate you sharing your positive experience with all on TripAdvisor. We are family owned and run since 1974, much pride and labor goes into the making of our food everyday. We want you to feel welcomed and comfortable here, we call that Gemütlichkeit. We welcome you to come in, relax and allow us to give you some time to e
What a hidden gem! I was super skeptical about going to a restaurant that served distinctly different cuisines but man am I glad I came! To be clear, the menu is probably 70% German and 30% Italian. The beer menu was great featuring plenty of German beers. I had the Bartender's recommendation of the "gypsy pork" (Zigeuner Schnitzel?) which was a pork chop smothered in a dark red gravy with peppers and onions and German potato salad on the side. The plate was definitely full of German flavors. She gave us a sample before ordering of Sauerbraten which she didn't recommend and wanted us to try before ordering. I enjoyed the sample but was glad I went with her recommendation. A friend in the group got chicken parm and he too was pleased and it looked very good. The ambiance of the room we ate in is the feel of a German-American pub - dark wood, booths all around a bar, and servers with thick European accents. We really enjoyed the experience.

Unique German themed restaurant nestled within the bowels of the CSRA. Owned and operated by a German American family, the eatery is decked out in German, Heidelberg, and Bavarian regalia. The menu boasts several familiar German dishes, many with a south German flair. A bit pricey, but they definitely feed you.Selection of good German beer, served in large cold glasses. The owner is incredibly mindful of children; saw him bring out some of his own granddaughterâs toys for one group of customers that had children.
