Had lunch here and it was pretty good…no surprises but the plat de jour (moules frites) were excellent, the salad option sort of predictable but very fresh and tasty. Reasonably priced, good service. The decor is indicative of what seems to be happening to these bars in France.. a bit of an 80s club feel.. but regardless, I would return and I would recommend if you find yourself peckish in Pamiers.

Crescendo Restaurant

Our family ate here on a Sunday evening, our last before we went back to England and the food was not great, I had a medium sirloin steak and it was virtually still raw, the chips were dried up and hard and it reminded me if my days in college in the refectory with its self service buffet style. Won't be going again not recommending it to anyone. Hello Steve,Thank you for your comment, it allows us to improve our service. We are sorry that you did not appreciate our restaurant. We visited Foix and its surroundings for about 12 days and we found La Bascule as the best reastaurant in all the area. We took lunch and dinner in restaurants around Foix, and this one was by FAR, the best one. My older kid, 8 years, told the owner(Who was always there), to reserve a table for the next 5 days as it is the only place where they enjoy eating. We visited the restaurant at least 6 times in our trip. Good food, nice place, a terrasse, parking and very, very Good service. Highly recommended!

We went to this restaurant by recomendation of a local from Pamier. We had a great 3 course lunch here for around 14.50 Euros per head. My starter was a firm favourite of grilled goat´s cheese salad, followed by a crêpe with sour cream and smoked salmon, and a ´night and day´ dark and light chocolate fondant with custard to finish. The owner/waitress was very friendly and helpfull and we enjoyed our meal very much. You must stop by for lunch next time you are passing through Pamier.

After a difficult morning enduring various sagas including a flat tyre, it was nearing 1pm and we were rather hungry, having missed out on breakfast. Not knowing the area whatsoever, we tapped into Trip Advisor and plumped for the no 2 restaurant (at the time of writing) nearby our location, adjusted the GPS and hoped our selection would be open. It was thankfully and a breeze to park near also. Even better, the most picturesque of stream runs by this lovely little restaurant...the sun was shining..you get the picture... We knew we'd picked well.We went in and were taken upstairs where we basked in the winter sunshine. The menu offered two courses for 13 euros or three courses for 16 euros and there were two choices to pick from for each course - no more, no less. The menu changes each day and offers simple wholesome cuisine, cooked beautifully and at a very reasonable price. Our waiter was very friendly, happy to speak English (and flip between French and English according to our efforts to converse!) and the service was perfectly timed. Not hurried, not slow but just right. We left nicely sated and went on with our journey a great deal happier than when we had arrived! For those who can't handle lactose, the menu can be adjusted according to need. The may be true also of gluten but I can't say for sure.Highly recommended!

Les Bains Douches

Reviewed By Feebs76

This restaurant is in a pretty situation along side the river which runs through Pamiers. It's close to the attractive walled park and tourist office. Ducks and ducklings swim by as you eat out on the terrace.... In light of its location and what the decor of the place promises, it was a real shame to be disappointed by the food and the service. The food was very typically French and yet entirely bland. The starters looked pretty but offered nothing of interest to the palate; the main course of fish 'casoullette' really just tasted greasy and then, once the spoonful of off-white puree disolved into it, over-poweringly of raw garlic. The service was very present and available but brusque and surly, in spite of the handful of diners. Overall it was an experience we could not wait to get away from. It's a shame, as it was somewhere we really wanted to like and it deserves to do well if they could just liven up the flavours and add a little charm to their service.
