Visited Alaska and The Kenai Peninsula a month ago with my 74 year old Dad. To say it was a trip of a lifetime is an understatement. The staff and facilities at Drifters are all first class. Many thanks to Bob, Evan, Ally, and our fishing / rafting guides Ben, Jon, and Tommy for 3 unforgettable days of fishing and rafting. You guys did an amazing job of catering to our every need and provided memories that will last us a lifetime. If you are an outdoors person you will love everything about this place. My Dad has not stopped talking about it since we got back. Worth every penny. I will definitely be back and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Alaska Experience. Cant wait to go back!

Great Family Vacation

Rented entire lodge for an extended family trip numbering 17. The lodge is centrally located in Kenaii Pennisula so we had access to to every activity we wanted to pursue. Despaired of our group we had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The long dining table in main building was a bonus as was the hot tub. Would definitely come again. Very friendly hosts and beautiful scenery.

Awesome end of the season stay

Reviewed By dawnya00

Beautiful rustic 2 night stay at the lodge. We stayed at the end of the season and really enjoyed our time there. The room is gorgeous and really gets you into the Alaska spirit with the fireplace. There wasn’t a mini fridge which is the only reason I gave 4 stars. We had great experience with staff, I think that is something Princess is known for.

Interesting Experience

Reviewed By I13JAmarym

We stayed in the Lynx cabin for 2 nights the first week of June. The cabin was lovely and well appointed. The food in the lodge was good. The first day we were there the dining room was disorganized but there were huge improvements by the time we left. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. We don't fish. We did do the all day raft trip. The raft guide was excellent at steering the raft. She was not able to look for any wildlife while steering. Birds are an important part of the wildlife viewing. In my mind the big drawback to this property is the location. While it is right on the river, it is located on a narrow strip of land between the highway and the river. There is road noise. There is no place to walk. I am not sure I would go back and I know I would only stay one night.

Cabin Rental in Cooper Landing, Alaska

My grandson and I loved our stay at Alaska Troutfitters Lodge. They are on the main highway, but the rooms have access to river via a nice dock area that one can sit and enjoy the river. They have a variety of rooms. We had a room with two queens, bathroom, and small kitchen area with apartment sized refrigerator, sink, and microwave. They do have other rooms that provide a kitchen area. They have room darkening shades which is very nice and also provide internet/TV. It is a cabin, but a nice cabin. They have some rooms that have easier access, but some of the rooms require quite a few steps to reach if that is important to you. I would highly recommend a stay. The staff is personable and pleasant. They also do fishing trips, but due to the way I set up my trip I did not understand that and made reservations with another provider. However, was very pleased with my choice of providers to go fishing. Cooper Landing is mostly a strip along the highway, but this lodge is very close to the things you might choose or want to do. Cooper Landing was just a delightful little place to do some great activities and enjoy their beautiful area.

It really does look like the photos

As you can tel from the photographs posted, the scenery is spectacular. We didn't see a lot of wildlife but we did very much enjoy our stay there. The chef this past summer was a character -- aspiring 5-star chef. One dinner really was excellent, the other one missed a little. Kayak after dinner was special and sunset was amazing. August is a good time to visit. Mosquitos not much of a problem.

Red Salmon Lodge

Reviewed By mjclimb

I would not recommend anyone staying the Cooper Landing area stay at Red Salmon Lodge. First, we arrived and were told the cook would be 'unavailable', so we would be on our own for meals. The cabin appeared nice, with all the amenities, but when we attempted to go to sleep at 10pm, we discovered numerous rodent nests in both beds. We called the owner's cell phone, but were unable to reach anyone until 11:30pm. After explaining the situation, we were told it was too late, and we should just brush it off and sleep in the beds anyway. When I said this was unacceptable, the owner proceeded to be very disrespectful and told me at 11:30 to just leave. We found droppings and foraged food in our bags and shoes after we left. We spend the next few nights at the Hutch and at River Haven, both of which were extremely nice facilities.
