The spirit of the "Land of Lincoln" is nowhere else so alive as it is in Springfield, one time home to old Honest Abe himself and present home of the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, the Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices State Historic Site, the Old State Capitol State Historic Site, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and the Lincoln Tomb State Historic Site. The NAACP also holds Springfield at its roots, having formed after a particularly bloody race riot here in 1908.

Great eggs Benedict on the buffet. We don’t usually don’t go to the Sunday buffet, but since it was Easter we decided to splurge. They do a good job keeping the buffet full. Plenty of choices.

Mimosa

Mimosa is worth a try for both the great variety of oriental food & beverage options (FYI — only bottled beer — nothing on draft, but several good oriental selections) as well as the airy/bright & rather eclectic ambiance. Although we have only enjoyed lunch there a number of times, those choices are quite extensive. Especially recommend their lunch specials— especially the curry & teriyaki dishes. All come with soup & egg rolls. Don’t bother with their soups as they are rather bland unless you add drops of Sriracha sauce to them. Egg rolls with dipping sauce are decent. Ample entree portions!!Although service can be only so-so sometimes, the overall experience makes it worth the travel to the city’s edge and prices are not at all unreasonable.
