The steaks we had at the LongHorn were excellent. The service was efficient, very pleasant and professional. Ashley did a great job taking care of us. This place is way better than the Texas Roadhouse if you want a good steak meal ... without all the noise typical at the Roadhouse.

Springfield Char House

We had dinner here due to a recommendation by the front-desk staff, at the Hilton Garden Inn. We ended up quite happy with the referral. The facility is clean and well-maintained; with a local family-restaurant atmosphere. Our server, Sara, was friendly and intermittently attentive. The opening salads were fresh; with the dressings very tasty. The pork chops and chopped steak entrees were nicely portioned, and flavorful. The baked potatoes made for satisfying sides. We ended with the creme brulee; which made for a nicely indulgent conclusion, to a very good meal. All and all; this restaurant is a solid option for a decent meal, at a reasonable price.

When we want something a little upscale and cozy we visit Fritz's which is a located close to home.Their menu selections are great as well as their homemade salad dressings. Last Thursday night I had the prime rib, mashed potatoes and house salad with mustard dressing.. all delicious. My husband had the full rack a ribs ... which we both think are the some of the best in town... we had enough left over for several lite meals.

This is a fun place for family to go. If you have a drivers license and a birthday, your meal is free. It is fun because you are the cook! Pick out your meat from the coolers when you walk in, and then cook it yourself on the massive grills. Fun for all.

A simple and delicious meal for two ran us about $200, including tip. Cocktails are $16 each...and your not even in Chicago! We enjoyed a soup, a salad, 2 entrees, a shared side and a shared dessert. Everything was delicious. Lobster bisque was rich and full of flavor, although there were no lobster bits...creamy only. Flight of filets was as great as at previous meals here. Chocolate cake with a miniature white Russian on the side was fresh and strongly chocolate flavored. The only disappointments were that it took nearly 1/2 hr to get the first cocktail, and that the bread was cold and a bit dried out.A parking voucher was provided for the parking garage attached to the Wyndham Springfield City Center (formerly Hilton).Since the legislature is currently in session, the restaurant was busy. Reservations are highly suggested.

A group of four of us visited this restaurant on a Friday evening. We had read several reviews that were really good and had friends recommend the place. We arrived around 6 pm and we’re surprised to only find a few people there in one of the dining rooms and none in the one they seated us in. We were greeted by a pleasant server who took absolutely amazing care of us. She was great about recommending everything from the appetizers to the drinks. Our steaks were good, shrimp was really good and the pumps cheesecake was top notch. Don’t miss the pumpkin martini and the homemade French onion soup or lobster bisque. The server said there was a lot going on in town which caused it to be unusually quiet. Definitely a good choice. Thank you for the kind words. Yes. Sometimes guests are thrown either by how busy we are or how "slow" we may seem. Being a local establishment "off the beaten path" we don't necessarily get the big crowds at the typical "busy times". We cannot complain though, we have the absolute best customers who find us and have great dining experiences. We're glad you were one of those. We believe you had the joy of being served by Leslie. She's such a pleasure to work with! Always extremely motivated to give her patrons the best experience she can. We are so happy you enjoyed your steaks, shrimp, soups and seasonal martinis. We hope you join us again soon and thank you so very much for stopping by.
