Wednesday night we had the pleasure of dining at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The service, presentation and ambience are top notch. This is a wonderful spot for an intimate dinner for two, a celebration or a full blown party. Ruth’s Chris Ft. Lauderdale is THE spot!We started the evening with a delightful bottle of 2014 Grgich Hills Estate Grown Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. For appetizers I started out with the Sizzling Blue Crab Cakes, two jumbo lump crab cakes with sizzling lemon butter. Almost all lump meat with just the slightest amount of backfin meat and breadcrumbs to hold them together, so very melt in your mouth tasty! Marci had the Crab Stack, (of course it was gluten-free!), colossal lump blue crab, avocado, mango and cucumber. It was served with a spicy remoulade and was amazing!Next up, the salads. I had the original, Ruth’s Chop Salad; it was, to turn a phrase, classic. Marci had one of seasonal Chef’s Features; Mandarin & Prosciutto Salad, arugula, spinach, pickled red onions, dried cherries, goat cheese crumbles, creamy bacon dressing (with big chunks of bacon). Don’t tell Ruth, I liked Marci’s better! For our dinner, Marci had the 8 oz Petite Filet with the six large shrimp accompaniment. I had the 22 oz bone-in Prime cut Cowboy Ribeye with 3 sea scallops accompaniment. We like our steaks medium rare plus, and they were dead on. NOT your average steak house, these guys can cook! These were accompanied by Roasted Brussel Sprouts with bacon & honey butter, and pan roasted Cremini Mushrooms with fresh thyme. The dinner was delicious and prepared to perfection..As a finale to this delightful meal, Marci, of course, had the Crème Brulee; classic vanilla custard with caramelized sugar & fresh berries and gluten-free! Ever the chocoholic, I had the chocolate duo, molten chocolate lava cake, AND chocolate mousse. The desserts were superb! I must reiterate. Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida is a MUST for a special occasion of any type, even if that occasion is just a Wednesday dinner with a friend or the love of your life..Last but not least, a giant thank you to:Natalie Kizer from Uproar PR for setting up this lovely evening.Jeremy Carlisle, GM, for his terrific hospitality.Megan, our server, for her patience & charm without whom this evening would not have been the same.

Chuck's Steak House

We were looking for a nice steak and did our Trip research. We found Chuck’s listed and after reading reviews, thought we would give it a go. This is located right off Rte 1 and close to 1A1 and plenty of parking options. What you get here is an old fashioned steak, well prepared, baked potato with plenty of butter and sour cream. And a nice salad bar. Drinks are very good. Service is excellent and everything was done well. If your looking for something expensive and fancy, this is not the place. If your looking for a nice steak and sides, with excellent service, then this is the perfect place.

We had 16 friends for dinner. The valet parking was prompt and friendly. The bartenders were prompt and friendly. The servers were very nice but it took a long time to start serving. Appetizers and salads were ok. Many of the dinners looked great and were good. We ordered every side they had and almost everyone was too salty to eat except for the corn and mashed potatoes. It seems who ever ordered the filets were happy. I ordered a Rib Eye and it did not come out hot like it should, plus after a few bites I gave it to my sister for her dog. I didn't bother to tell the waiter, no way I wanted to wait for another dish to come out of that kitchen. In my opinion, if I am in the area, I would stop for a drink at the bar, I would not eat there again.
