On an apparently slow afternoon, our party of 4 arrived at the end of our three hour hike inJuly only 30 minutes before closing for lunch. They graciously agreed to serve us. We had not seen the reviews but were grateful and then amazed at the wonderful food and unhurried service. We had delicious tapas, cervezas, and wine! A welcome treat at the end of the trail.

Lovely restaurant with helpful staff. Food was excellent, service was quick and efficient. My wife's duck was particularly nice although slightly too rare for her liking. My shish kebab was ok, although the menu said it was hot (spicy) it wasn't. The deserts were delicious but the Nutella desert was just a bit too much and very rich.Look forward to visiting this restaurant again soon.Dear Mr. Sean,First of all thank you so much for write your good opinion about our restaurant, we are happy because you like very much.In one hand, about the Shish Kebab, we haven' t got any information in our Menú about that this one is with hot spicy, we write in our Menú: " Veal Shish kebab with tzatziki sauce ( minced beef with spices and yogurt sauce) , sorry if you think this is with hot spicy. In another hand, about the duck, we are happy because you like, perhaps you feel it was too rare because is not normal duck, is duck breast.We hope we can recived you in the future like you say.Thank you so much,Best Regards,Posada el Parral.

This was our first experience of Spanish food in GaucÃn and we were thrilled to find this beautiful restaurant on our door step.The owner was so welcoming, we felt at ease and relaxed immediately.The restaurant is perched above a pretty town square and is decorated in a charming style.The very helpful owner helped us choose a combination of sharing dishes for our family to try. When they were served to us we were overwhelmed by the exquisite presentation and the taste was absolutely beautiful. Everything was so fresh and delicious...the salads and fruits were bursting with Spanish sunshine!The puddings - a brownie with caramel ice cream and fried milk (gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!!) - completed our perfect meal.If you visit GaucÃn you must try Azulete...it really is stunning! We were staying in a friends villa in the side of the mountains 10 mins from this beauty. So glad we dined here. We own an italian in Cheshire and love trying new places and when you find a gold mine like this you have to shout about it. Firstly the owner and the main waiter who served us on every visit were so friendly and welcoming and made our evenings more special. The place....hidden out of the main areas and such a beautiful restaurant that its well worth the drive to it. The food....WOW. Prefection. The veal chop, to die for. The salads, vegetables fish, steaks...full of flavour and left you wanting more. Great for the kids too. Can't wait to go back just to visit here. My wife and I stumbled across this restaurant whilst out on a drive in the Spanish hills, Sunday late lunchtime, place looked busy, plenty of cars parked outside, so we stopped and entered the building. The menu is only available in Spanish but that's our problem, we had a quick look and decided on salmon & langoustine skewers, we were asked if we wanted a salad and was offered the house salad which was enormous, had fresh mango in it and a very sweet sticky dressing - it was superb. We sat outside in the mid March sunshine just above the pool - the views were amazing. The skewers arrived and were very tasty - good portions - most enjoyable. The food and drink was inexpensive - we were made most welcome & we would certainly visit again if we ever find it again!

We ate their twice.....once in the cafe/restaurant to the rear and once in the bar in frontOn Friday, we were in the cafe/restaurant - with just ourselves and another table, it was quite quiet but the food was really fantastic! Jamon Iberica to start, then Ciervo Castana (venison with chestnuts) and tuna for main courses were simply sublime. Finished off with a cheesecake so rich, it thought it had just one the euro lottery! With wine, coffees and a round of free liquors, this cost less than 60 euros for the two of us - which we thought fantastic value!On Sunday, we tried out the bar and pizza's, which were lovely but after Fridays sumptuous feast, it didn't quite reach the same scale (albeit it was cheaper!)

We ate here on a Friday night. Although the opening times say 8pm to 11pm this wasn't quite true. We arrived at 8 to be told the kitchen wasn't open. It was about 45 minutes until we were shown to the restaurant area from the bar as the kitchen had at last opened. We were unable to order various things from the menu which was disappointing. We ordered steaks which were delicious and cooked perfectly as requested. The restaurant was clean and staff were friendly. We were the only two eating there until another family arrived shortly after 10pm. We paid just under 40⬠for our mains and drinks.

We spent a lot of time in Estacion Cortes (fabulous village)during our 2 week holiday and this became our favourite place for drinks, tapas and meals. Friendly, family run place with excellent service. We shall return!

We visited yesterday for lunch. We sat on the terrace, enjoying the beautiful views and welcome breeze. Five of us had 3 tapitas each and we all had a couple of drinks, a mixture of beers, wines and soft drinks. The owner is a lovely, friendly guy. Very welcoming and helpful. The food was very tasty and there was a great selection. We loved the mini hotdog with onion marmalade and mustard. We couldn't believe the bill - 35 euros for all of that lovely homemade food and drink. Give it a try.

On our driving tour of Andalusia, we stopped for a meal in Ubrique. By accident, we found this wonderful "gastobar" bistro and enjoyed an excellent array of tapas and raciones in the middle of a weekday afternoon. The room has comfortable seating, interesting décor, attentive service, and excellent food. Highly recommended!
