Welch's Ale House

The former site of the John H. Welch & Sons hardware Store, 1915 South Calhoun Street, is now home to Welch's Ale House. Our menu includes an eclectic mix of burgers, wings and other Americana staples. But who says carnivores should get to have all the fu

I figured with a four point something rating this place would be worth a try. The menu has a decent selection, but the prices are a little too much. For example, I ordered a veggie burger and a lemonade. I spent a little more than $11.00 total. For that price, I feel the burger should at least come with fries. Maybe fries and cole slaw. It was $2.00 more for a side of fries. This place is more a bar than a restaurant. I do not drink, but they seem to have a good selection of beers. Good for a night out with friends maybe, but not someplace to take a date.

Saigon Restaurant

When I go to a restaurant, I go for the food first, especially when it's my first time to that restaurant. The service is generally rated after a second or third visit. Saigon is located in an older section of Fort Wayne, but don't let that deter you from going there. The food is delicious. My daughter and I started with the Vietnamese iced coffee. It's served with a small brewing tin and sweet cream. Since we were confused on how to fix it, the host showed us how to do it. It was great and very refreshing. We ordered spring rolls and a shrimp soup with white noodles which was very flavor able, especially after adding fresh lime juice, sprouts, and hot peppers to the soup. The bowl was very large and there were plenty of noodles for the both of us. The host told us to order the beef soup with white noodles the next time we stop there. We will definitely stop there again.

Stopped here while traveling through on business. Nice location right downtown. It was a Friday during the lunch rush and there was parking right out front. We wwre seated as soon as we walked in. Nice vibe to the place in a historical building. Lots of choices on the menu. All of us in the business party ordered something different and all of us were happy. Portions were huge. Pricing was commensurate with a downtown location and portion sizes. Would definitely like go back during happy hour. The bar had a lot of choices on tap and the drink menu had every drink you'd want.

Loving Cafe

I love a restaurant with pleasant smelling linen napkins, but I digress. So excited to see a vegan restaurant in Fort Wayne, and the ratings even more exciting. I made the drive to try out Loving Café and was extremely satisfied. The customer service was excellent, the menu vast, and the food excellent. The Potato and Kale Soup was thick and creamy and beyond amazing. The Barbeque was large and tasty, along with the Tropical Smoothie. Based on other reviews I should have gotten a sampler but my two dishes were more than filling so I had to stop eating. This is by far the best vegan restaurant I have encountered...and in Fort Wayne of all places. Way to go.

Biaggi's Ristorante Italiano

Casual Italian restaurant offering an extensive selection of house-made and imported pastas, soups and salads, pizza, seafood, steaks and desserts. Large portions of affordably priced menu selections are prepared with the freshest ingredients available.

We chose Biaggi's on our first night, just looking for something easy and filling. We were disappointed. Again, like many other restaurants in Ft. Wayne, it's fine but it isn't anything special or memorable. There isn't anything that sets it apart from a chain restaurant, honestly. Would not go back.
