One of the many "eateries" along East Market Street, the outside is rather inconspicuous; the place is mainly frequented by locals. Parking in front is limited, but there is ample parking in back. The supper menu is quite extensive: choices listed under Seafood, Italian, Mexican, etc. Dinners include: soup, salad bar, entrée, choice of potato. The servings are ample.

What more can you say, the food is good, hot and filling. It is fast food, and the drive through is efficient.

Shrimp King is a Food Truck that evolved into a site-based restaurant. We visited a couple of times shortly after it opened a year or more ago and deemed it "decent" but still with some distracting quirks. We're glad we returned this evening. After starting the eve with a bottle of wine at nearby People's Winery ( already well-reviewed on TA) we decided to visit Shrimp King again. The menu has definitely improved both in appearance and diversity of selection. All dishes are now served with a side of Broccoli slaw ( good even if your not a Broccoli fan) and one other large side dish. My side was fried cornbread which had the consistency of a potato pancake but tasted much better. The Garlic Butter Shrimp entree with a big bowl of smoked potatoes was way more than ample and very good. The half rack of St. Louis ribs ( smoked on premises) was meaty, perfectly chewy yet tender, and nicely spiced. It wasn't terribly busy and the servers were very attentive and friendly. If you 've never been there before and and are in the area it is worth a visit. If you've been there before, but not recently, it's worth going back. The above meal for two with a couple bottles of beer only set us back about $32. A great value in our estimation with plenty left over to take home.
