This was close to where we were staying and we used it a lot for meals or drinks. The sea bass was among the best we have ever eaten and the house white wine would match many more expensive wines. This is a family business serving nice food at the lovely harbour view. Lâametlla de mar is a lovely beach town between Valencia and Barcelona, in Tarragona province. While driving from Valencia to Barcelona we had a rest in this lovely town, visited La Bocana without looking at reviews. There are 2 type of menus or a la carte. Fried codfish and fried anchoise were very good starters. Sole was OK and parlla with artichokes and codfish was very different. Bier was cold and we enjoyed nice and fast service that we didnât see too much through Spain.

I ate here in May and one of my friends then had the monkfish in a garlic sauce. I decided that when I visited again, I would have this dish. So last night I went back with friends and ordered it, it was delicious! Just perfect and I was not disappointed at all. Wonderful food, great location, the only downside was we had a trainee waitress who didn't say anything, didn't pour the drinks and really shouldn't have been allowed near customers until she had the refinements needed. Other than that, a great dining experience and I will be going back very soon, I want to try the salt cod next time.

It seemed everyone was having a caldoso. It was very good. Plenty for two of the biggest appetites. A lovely Dorada for one and chicken nuggets for our son. We had a bottle of a local white wine (Garnatxa) and couldnât get to postre. Lovely location. Great lunch.

Overlooking Cap Roig beach this is the perfect beach place: Great view of the beach, great view of the scenery and good food at reasonable prices. All food was excellent but the fried small squids were outstanding. Parking is a problem since others discovered this beach and restaurant too!

We came for a late dinner with friends and we were told they had run out of vermouth. The friendly waiter offered to make a jug of sangria. We ended up having 3 jugs by the end of our dinner. It contained a bit of brandy. What a fantastic sangria. The food was absolutely delicious. Small tapas mainly with sea food. The sepia, mussels, fish carpaccio were the best. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We ended up going there once more for diner and also for a lunch. I definitely would recommend this restaurant. Some of the staff speak English, too!!!!

I am using Tripadvisor more and more to avoid bad eating places and unpleasant surprises.This little back street eatery is not fine dining as some reviewers will lead you to believe but it is a great little friendly restaurant serving really fresh food simply but expertly prepared.We had the fried fish, which is so often frozen....not here ! Beautifully fresh and cooked just right. Fresh mussels and fish soup. Cant go wrong not here anyway!Secreto of pork, sort of succulent pork steaks, simply seasoned but beautifully cooked and succulent grilled squid.Desserts ok.Really nice lunch, friendly service and good value for money!Good Morning Marc:First of all thanks you for coming to our little house and for wasting time writing your opinion about us. You are right to say that the street and the facade are not good but I am glad that despite that they decided to eat and that it was worth it. Decided to go to this restaurant after checking Tripadvisor and it was a wise decision. It's in a great location next to the harbour, we had a table by the window. Plenty of room for the three of us. The staff were very efficient, polite, helpful and utterly charming. The food was superb, I had garlic prawns to start, steak to follow and this just melted on the mouth and panacotta to follow. All beautifully presented, and mouth-wateringly delicious. Having recently moved to the area, this is currently my favourite restaurant and will be coming back many times.

Every year for the past three years we have spent our holiday near L'Ametlla and eaten out a lot. Last week we treated ourselves to dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Cambrils which was lovely but Balco de L'Estany wins hands down. The location is stunning on a headland overlooking the sea and is wonderfully secluded - you feel like you've stumbled upon the region's best kept secret. The food was sublime. We had mussels and the local dish, fideua, both cooked to perfection with minimal fuss. The proprietor was very warm and welcoming too. The highlight of our holiday this year.

We found this little gem by chance driving past and were taken by the idyllic site. Came for dinner at our last night and had an amazing time! Apart from the excellent food and drink the atmosphere was lovely and the staff friendly and very attentive - Nothing was too much trouble! Highly recommend! Fabulous music too!!
