My wife and I stopped by Mellow Mushroom in Columbia for some appetizers and drinks. The restaurant is very interesting and eclectic being located in an old downtown building. The average rating is purely because they were out of almost all their on-tap local beers. I had to settle for a canned local beer which was good though not as good a local draft. Our waitress was excellent and very helpful with our drink orders and appetizers. I ordered some bbq wings which came with carrots and celery. They were excellent! The pretzel bites with beer cheese were delicious as well! My wife requested marinara to dip her pretzel bites in as she is vegan. The average rating was purely due to the poor beer selection. Otherwise, it is an excellent restaurant.William, we're glad you enjoyed your wings and pretzel bites! We're sorry about the shortage of local beers. This was an absolutely wonderful dinner. Took my son for parent's weekend. The atmosphere is comfortable and classy. We ate indoors but they have patio seating as well. My son and I had 2 different pasta dishes and my husband had a pizza. I also ordered a ceasar salad - which was one of the best I've had - not just ceasar dressing on top of lettuce! My husband loved the pizza - it was a thin crust with cheese and toppings. It was very tasty (he shared 1 bite). The waitress was friendly and attentive. The prices were very reasonable - the food delicious. The only negative was we had a little trouble finding it as the name of the restaurant was hidden a bit. Look for all the lights from the patio.

Service was fantastic and the restaurant was clean. The sweet potato fries and French dip sandwich were excellent. Disappointed in the chicken wings. The menu said they were grilled but they were clearly fried, which my husband is not supposed to eat. We would go back but do not recommend the wings.
