San Jose Restaurant is rated #1 in Roanoke Rapids, so as this was our first stay in this city, we wanted to try it. Boy, was this a good choice! We shared a terrific dish of Fajitas with Shrimp, including beans and rice, cheese and sour cream, tortillas, and delectable shrimp, many shrimp! What a dish! We also ordered a 'side' dish of guacamole (made to order), as big as a main dish! The multi-color chips, like all the rest of the meal, were fresh and crisp. Every single bite was wonderful. This was some of the best Mexican food we have ever had and, as a result, we were really pleased to learn that San Jose Restaurant is also available in Rocky Mount and other cities as well. And, our server and every other staff person we came in contact with was smiling and eager to help.

Have been here several times when in town with work. The salsa is nice and fresh made; it is not the puréed tomato concoction that is found at many restaurants. The white sauce offered with the chips is pretty good too. The menu has a lot to choose from. You'll find something you like!

I went through the drive-thru and had an awful experience. I received the wrong food. Most of the items had little or no steak/chicken as they do at other locations. The woman at on the speaker/at the window was apathetic and a bit snarly. They took forever to get me my food. They made me park around the corner for 12 minute before coming out with a smug facial expression. Then I found that I also had no napkins. Lol. I will never go back to this location!
