Cracker Barrel

Reviewed By Ricki21 - Long Island, New York

Having been to a few CB's I expect an inexpensive meal and usual good service. There are quite a few along I-95 and we stopped at this one for lunch. We should have driven to the next location. It was moderately busy, but that was no excuse for the issues we had. The waitress took our order, lost it, took it again and 25 min later still no food. We asked another waitress and she said the kitchen was busy. The food arrived and my scrambled eggs arrived over-easy! Had to wait for new eggs. So ate my toast alone and then the eggs alone.

So not sure if it's this location, or the waitress! Will pass this exit and go to another the next trip.

Ralph's barbecue

Buffet was constantly monitored and food was turning over quickly on a Sunday afternoon. Barbecue and fried chicken were the stars. Many sides seemed like an afterthought. Several things like coleslaw and corn were sweet for our taste. I’m sure many people love it. Service was excellent.

This Dairy Queen was attached to other businesses as well as a gas station, so more reasons to go. Overall, your typical Dairy Queen specializing is soft serve ice cream, though we did think the portions were huge for the regular sizing. Very good soft serve with plenty of fixings. You can get food items in addition to the ice cream, but we did not choose any food. It was very well air conditioned so a nice treat for a hot summer night. We had eaten at the steakhouse located behind the building so it was a great place to grab dessert after a meal of steak and ribs. Location is very busy with lots of traffic patterns to deal with in and out. Use caution.

San Jose

We had never been to this restaurant although we have lived in the area for 17 years. Because of the previous reviews here, we tried it last Friday night. The food was wonderful and the waitress was very pleasant. This restaurant is very deceiving from the outside and I was pleasantly surprised with the interior. The white sauce with the chips was a nice alternative to the usual salsa. Will definitely be returning.

My wife and I stopped in on our way to Williamsburg from Florida. Our server, Toni, was over the top. We've never been treated so well. If we didn't know better, we would have believed we were in her house.
We tried an awesome salad dressing, honey mustard bacon. It came in two parte. By far the most unbelievable salad dressing we've ever had.
We commented to Toni about it and she brought the kitchen manager,Beatty out to talk to us. He was so hospitable. He not only gave us a container of the dressing, he actually printed out the recipe. All this done with the blessings of the manager, Melissa.
I had the ribs. I made the mistake of ordering a full rack. It was too much for me, but they were so good, I ate them all.after I ordered them Toni told me they were the best kept secret in North Carolina.
I only gave this restaurant 5 stars because they wouldn't let me give it 10. I will never drive down i95 without stopping in.
Great job Toni, Beatty and Melissa!!

Oscar's Restaurant

Reviewed By Merrill L - Boone, North Carolina

I've been going to Oscar's since boyhood (40+ years ago!) and it consistently has had good food, friendly staff, and fast service. I moved away many years ago and hadn't been in probably 10 years until yesterday.

I'm happy to say it hasn't changed a bit! Still the same good food at very reasonable prices, fast service, and friendly folks. In fact some of the same people work there who I remember from many years ago. It is your classic small town diner. If you like to hang out with the locals, eat good, not overpriced food, and even strike up a conversation, this is your kind of place.

I highly recommend Oscars--a Roanoke Rapids tradition.

Chick-fil-A

Reviewed By ruralartist - Cheraw, SC

Good food, as expected, quick service, friendly folks. All standard at Chick-fil-A's nationwide. Not easy on and off the interstate - you have to exit the interstate and go to the correct stop light, turn left onto the access road (which is further from the interstate than you would expect it to be), then drive a good ways down the road to reach the restaurant. Returning to the interstate is easier.

Logan's Roadhouse

Reviewed By njreils - Randolph NJ

Recently went to Logans for dinner. We had been to this restaurant a number of times in the past traveling south on Interstate 95 and enjoyed it. Not so good this visit. Service was fine. However chicken for my wife and I was undercooked. Rolls were not up to prior standard.Baked potatoes were seriously undercooked and hard. Seems like they rushed the meals too much to get orders out too fast. They would do better to slow it down to get food out more properly cooked. We will likely try Logans again when in the area.

Cook Out

This location wasn't anything out of the ordinary. We went to the walk up window and the server was nice and funny. Our food took forever to get. The burgers aren't anywhere near what I would consider large. Most of the order was lukewarm.
