This was run of the mill Tex Mex (I lived in Texas for 8 years and this was consistent with what they label Tex Mex, but not âinterior Mexâ). It is fast, but nothing to write home about.

Recently Lynn and I and friends visited Casa Alegre. It was our first time. Our friends had been there many times. First, this interesting 1904 building was tastefully renovated into a restaurant with Mexican charm...Orange and Blue exterior with a historical old wooden bar. The weather was comfortable so we decided to eat on the patio. I had a Carne Asada Burrito which was big, fluffy and delicious. Lynn had her Chile Relleno and a Beef Taco. She thought that the Beef Taco was perfect, but she wasnât crazy about her Relleno. She likes gooey cheese inside and this wasnât . My friend had a Veggie Fajita which looked wonderful. And, my vegetarian friend said that it was great. The kids (2 - ten year old girls) shared an order of cheese nachos. Our granddaughter had a Bean Burrito for her entree. Unfortunately, while we were there the internet went down and they had a devil of a time trying process our credit cards. We liked Casa Alegre and look forward to a return trip one day.
No surprises at this place, it offers the usual Chipotle food. If you like Mexican in this place you'll have it very fast and the prices are attractive. During the busy lunch hours this place is usually packed.
Where to eat Pizza food in Louisville: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Its located in a great spot in down town Louisville. There's a fun environment and the outdoor seating is nice. It's a fun place to go with friends or a group. The staff is kind and helpful. The food is just okay though. I got the carne asada tacos, and the steak was kind of chewy and didn't seem super high quality. The chips, salsa, and guacamole were very good though.Overall the restaurant is nice but there's nothing really special about it. theres much better Mexican places in Louisville with higher quality food and an equally fun environment.
I ordered two burritos. One beef one chicken and added beans. First, the burrito wasnât wrapped right and it all dripped out the bottom on both. Both had more beans âgravyâ with green chiles than actual protein. It was like a gravy burrito essentially. Both tasted exactly the same. The filling was so hot it burnt my mouth on both. You couldnât tell the taste between the two. Overall a national chain had better product. Wont be back.
