Not a whole lot of choices when traveling the interstate, other than fast-food. We decided to jump off I-77 and drive the two miles or so towards town looking for something different. We're pleased we did.While there is nothing extraordinary about Rio Grande, it was the ordinariness that worked for us. Good food at a very good price.Rio Grande sits in a strip mall. It's decor is cheap looking but comfortable. The waitstaff was rather slow. And we didn't much care for their margaritas. However, our food was more than satisfactory. Chips and salsa arrive at the table fairly quickly. My chicken fajita was more than ample. My companion's burrito was good. Red rice and refried beans accompanyied our meals. Appetizer, drinks, and dinner for two and we spent less than $30.00. Having to drive the I-77 corridor with some regularity, this find will make a nice respite from fast-food.

My first visit to Rio Grande today and food is warm, tasty and flavorful. Salsa has a different kick but I like it. I ordered Luncheon Vegetarian #13- a spinach burrito covered in white cheese sauce with retried beans. A glass of MerlotA worthy, warm and tasty meal.
