Ellicott City is an unincorporated community and census-designated place, along with being the county seat of local government in Howard County, Maryland, United States. It is part of the Baltimore Metropolitan Area. The population was 65,834 at the 2010 census. Founded in 1772, the town contains the B. & O. Railroad Museum's branch at the Ellicott City Station, built in 1830 as the first terminus of the initial line. The downtown historic district is located in the valley of the small Tiber River, with its east end abutting the Patapsco River, which forms the Baltimore County line. As of the 2000 census, Ellicott City surpassed Towson (county seat of neighboring Baltimore County) for the first time, as the largest unincorporated county seat in the country.

Family and I went to Ernestoâs off word of mouth from a friend. Great find and our sever Marcelo was awesome! Nachos Locos and the fajitas with chorizo were on point. One of the best Mexican restaurants Iâve been to, and that includes places in Texas and Arizona.

We were visiting with a childhood friend and decided to grab dinner and continue to catch up.He suggested Mi Casa and it sounded great. Fortunately the food lived up to the billing. We had fajita fiesta, it was a sizzling skillet of flavour. The enchiladas were also terrific. The staff were very nice and efficient. We sat in the front room which was nice. If I had a constructive criticism, it would be nice to have more ambiance.

While visiting my boyfriends daughter and husband on Easter, they suggested La Palapa for lunch. It was a gorgeous day, so we were seated on the nice patio area. Comfortable seating, two musicians playing low key music added to the atmosphere. We ordered a pitcher of house Margaritas, which were "ok" and the usual chips and salsa arrived, which was also "ok". Everyone else seemed to have their favorite, go-to food, which looked good. I ordered the Tortilla soup, and it was good, not as flavorful as I was hoping, but still good. However, the Ceviche I ordered was "outstanding". The shrimp and white fish were so delicate and the flavors of fresh lime and chilies and cilantro were a perfect marriage of flavors. I would go back just for that.

We took our visiting relatives to Pachanga's since it used to be one of their favorite happy hour spots before they moved to Texas. Everything was just how they remembered it with very good food and great service. Our only concern was the steep increase in happy hour beer prices to $4 for the 22oz beers, even though that is still very reasonable and considering the added selections now available. Website actually still lists 1/2 price. There were noticeable increases across the entire menu. The Ala a carte beef and shredded chicken crispy tacos were large and very good. Burritos and quesadillas were said to be very good by the rest of the group.
