We have just had an incredible meal here. The portion sizes are very large and all the dishes were very tasty. Quite a few of the dishes were something a little different. What a wonderful evening to end our visit to Madeira. We had the suggested menu which included any starter, any main course, any dessert and coffee + all were complimented with matching wines and a lovely Madeira wine with our dessert and, all for 37⬠each. The staff made us feel special, the chef came out to speak with us and shared his style of preparing his Risotto. The ambience was ideal, the decor was very calming and the view from the terrace ended out at sea. All in all a very lovely evening. This was the first restaurant we went, after 10h of travelling. My wife had already visited, so it was an easy pick. The service is very nice and welcoming,There is an ocean view from the terrace, and even from the inside tables. You can enjoy a full blast of atlantic sunset while s ipping' nice wine or a cocktail.The menu is very well thought of. Simple enough but also something for every taste.And the pricing. Well, it is a top notch location with a view. But the price of dinner is still very low. Personally I would have paid double for what we got and still be happy.

We went to Chrisâs with some expectations, based om good reviews, but this was still a positive surprice. The chevre was great, the grilled seabass was excellent and the cheesecake with Camenbert was a winner. The best thing with Chrisâs was still the service, highly professional, nice and relaxing. Service was a little slow & it wasn't that busy. They also had no tofu, but the staff didn't tell us this untill we tried to order it. We should have been told when they gave us the menu. Wait for the food was quite a while, but when it came it was worth the wait. Amazing food.Thank you very much for your review! At our restaurant we work with local and fresh products and we have very rigorous quality standards. Cooking preparations for certain dishes are sometimes long because we prepare everything at the moment. About the miscommunication about the tofu option, we are going to improve our communication process regarding the items in our menu and we appreciate your feedback. We always try to prepare our food according to traditional recipes and with the freshest possible ingredients to provide a special culinary experience and a way to discover the true typical Portuguese cuisine. We booked a table here after reading the positive comments on TripAdvisor. You can chose to sit at an inside table or from 2 separate outdoor areas. The staff were friendly, casual but also professional. 3 people out of 4 were happy with the food, however, the food took over 1 hour to be served(I estimate 1h and 20minutes). There is no joke. We were with a 9month kid and the wait killed us. Fish of the day was not good. The risotto with seafood was very good.Dear Customer Thank you for wasting your time writing your poor comment and scorning a very low score.It is difficult to accept your review because you not being completely honest.Since you and group arriving at the restaurant you have had all the support of our staf from beginning to the end of dinner.-Our food is all freshly cooked -Your fish of the day was not to your liking because we waited 20 minutes to serve because you been away during that time to try to calm down your baby.Your Dinner since you arrivale takes 38 minutes to cook during the time that you are way.-"The wait killed us" just as you said because the baby did not stop crying and you feelt embarrassed at the other customers.Dear sir your absence from the table during you food was send to the table bot had too be send back to the kitchem since your and wife were not there ,with the rest of the group waiting for you to start dinner.As you saw that night we had the restaurante full off customer therefor you need to be a litle more patient because we love to serv you perfect prepared meals how is our habit.We sory you had a bad experience in our restaurant and will do everthing to rectify it.We are aware that we offer the best service and food possible to thouse who have visited us to this day ,please call again in future SinceryFranco

After reading the reviews about Real Canoa we were really looking forward to our meal there. Unfortunately it was a real disappointment. Maybe if we were returning visitors it might have been different. Bruno spent most of the time chatting with the 'regulars' seated outside. Only coming in to see the couple on the table beside us, as they'd complained about their dry chicken. Our service was very rushed (understandable if the restaurant was full).Coming back twice within minutes to see if we were ready to order. The food came quickly but the prawns & chicken was very dry - all the good reviews I'd read about the 'prawns'? We ordered one tiramisu but two were delivered to the table. Pity..

A little gem of a restaurant with a fine dining experience, but not too expensive. Service was excellent. We had a 3 course meal with the wine pairing option, which is a great way to explore different wines, matched with your food. We ate exclusively seafood for mains and starter and everything was perfect. Would not hesitate to recommend.
