La Orotava is amazing in itself, and this cosy eating peace only adds to the aesthetic perception of the town. Luckily the weather was not hot and we had an opportunity to climb the steep hills of town to bump into an unforgettable cafe. Very interesting and old fashioned yard with a few tables and a welcoming staff. We popped in luckily to enjoy our croquettas, sand pollo, b. questo blanco and heineken.

Looked pretty empty on arrival at 2pm. Staff behind the bar more occupied with making drinks and no welcome. No signs to sit yourself or wait to be sat. On asking, a gesture to sit was given and a few moments later a drinks ordered was taken.An ok selection of meals. Buffet style so nothing really hot, lukewarm at best. Didnât want to chance the fish as they didnât look to be that coldFor a little over â¬10 it isnât an expensive lunch, however a little courtesy and a smile goes a long way, especially when neither party speak each otherâs language fluently.

Chiringuito = beach bar and this one is really right on the beach at Bollolullo. Itâs a lovely walk out of town to this popular but not too busy beach. Very good simple food at reasonable prices. Tapas of Spanish omelette and anchovies went down very well. My wife had cuttlefish with canary potatoes as good as any restaurant in town. Well worth a visit. A cosy little restaurant with outstanding food and wine. The red wine is made by the father and is delicious. You can buy a 5 litre box of it for just â¬15. We've been 3 times now and they have never failed to disappoint. Everything I've tasted, from the scrambled egg with smoked salmon, to mushroom risotto to steak and chips, has been the best I've ever tasted. we saw this place on the way up to el teide and dropped in on the way back. you've seen the pictures. the interior does give you an impression but you'd be wrong. the weather was good enough for us to sit outside anyway.we had some starters and for mains it was sole and carne fiesta (marinated pork). everything was very good. obviously a few drinks too. this place is cheap as chips. at sea level we'd been paying 50 euro for this type of grub. aguamansa wanted 30. yes 30 euro. try getting all that for just over 20 quid in the u.k. no chance! we even had some sunshine thrown in as well.

Years ago this was a regular haunt of the Tenerife Amigos golf society & then for some reason we left. But 3 visits in the last couple of week puts San Diego back on the regular visit list. Chops, steaks & burgers to die for.....try it , great food super staff, cannot fault itSo happy to see you again. And glad you are enjoying our variety of dishes. We had a wonderful lunch at this tucked away gourmet burger restaurant in the hills above la orotava. It is certainly worth the trip as the selection is varied and unusual. Apart from the plain burger with wedges for my youngest, we had the oishii burger, which blended the succulent patty with American cheese, pickles and a mango ketchup and the other was a Thai inspired burger with wasabi cream cheese and vegetable tempura. All were served with crispy wedges and with drinks for all the bill only came to 22 euros.
