This is a great zoo with a lot of interesting shows and animals to see. I would recommend everything, but to pick a few of the favourites, I'll say you definitely don't want to miss the penguins, whales, dolphins, gorillas, lions and the macaw aviary. If you want to attend all the shows, you probably have to plan a little bit and be there in the morning.

This beach can be reached by 30/40 minutes walk from the top of Puerto de la Cruz which it's in it self quite nice. There is also a snack bar on the beach.
If you are interested there is a very nice Spanish restaurant near by, the San Diego.

Stayed here for 3 nights and found 3 good restaurants to eat in, all based on Spanish local food but each one worth a try; Depatanegra was exceptional. Nice town to wonder round but steep hills.

Casa de Los Balcones

This is much more of a commercial Enterprise than it is a museum. Entrance to the ‘museum’ is inside the shop, usual tourist tat on one side and on the other side jewellery and textiles. There is no point really getting the audio guide it doesn’t add anything of interest to the museum. Inner courtyard is nice and would be a nice peaceful little oasis if it wasn’t for the loud piped music over the speakers, to the point you can’t hear the audio guide anyway and the sound coming from the bank of caged canaries on the wall, which should all be released where they belong in my opinion. You then go upstairs to the first balcony which is magnificent and you get to peer through glass onto a replicated bedroom and the same with the lounge. You cannot go onto the next level, despite the audio guide implying you can, you are then led back down into the courtyard. Whilst I was here I wanted to you the toilet but found my way barred by a turnstile, I then had to search around until I found a member of staff to give me a token to use the loo! Absolutely ridiculous, just so they can make a bit more money out of other people who have to pay to use the loo. It's like being a child at school or something having to ask a teacher if you can use the loo, a grown adult shouldn't have to do this. We didn’t like this place at all it’s way too commercial for our tastes, and all the staff were really surly and acted like I was going to run off with the audio guide the way it was snatched out of my hand at the end. I would have given this place an average score, but have marked it down because of the stupid loo policy.
