We stopped here for lunch as a last treat before we drove on to the ferry to return home after a few days around Bayeux. We were lucky to get a table on a busy Sunday in the Easter hols, without booking. What a find! This is what eating in France is all about, and we were so glad to have this as our last meal of the trip! Start to finish we were treated with flair, grace and professionalism. The food was superb - everything! Probably doesn’t matter what you have as it all looks amazing, but we had Fish Soup starter with all the usual trimmings, because it’s a holiday favourite. It was spot on.Then I had Choucroute de la Mer because it’s a regional speciality and I’ve never had it - basically braised white cabbage with bacon and 3 types of fish on top with shellfish too. Superb. Robert had grilled hake on a spinach risotto with scallops and mussels. The desserts were amazing too. Altogether a top class experience. Ended our little holiday on such a high note! We will make a special trip next time to try one of the gorgeous seafood platters we saw going past all the time!

A visit to Normandy means you have to experience gallettes the wheat flour based savory or sweet pancakes. The full ham, eggs & cheese or ice cream & fresh fruit are both really great. This is a busy place especially so on Friday & Saturday nights but its worth a wait if you don't get a table first time.We have been several times - the local cider is good as well

La Calypso

An exemplar of the modern style of French cooking, with fast but friendly service and imaginative food cooked by four hard-working guys in an open kitchen, Calypso more than satisfied our needs on a Saturday evening in bustling Cabourg. Bruschetta de Homard as a starter was clever; the bruschetta maybe succumbing too soon to the copious avocado piled on it and becoming soggy but the homard cooked perfectly and full of flavour. A good 8/10. The Macaron de Saumon fume was great; pretty as a picture. Troncot de Turbot with its risotto was excellent; a really good chunck of turbot and perfect cooking. A good enough wine list with Philliponat at its heart - available by the glass or bottle, with the 1522 and Clos des Goisses listed at very sharp prices. The rose was excellent. If it wasn't a cheap evening, it shouldn't have been with homard, turbot and Phlliponat amongst other joys. There was a great atmosphere, the place was very quickly full after 7.30, and we left for the ferry very happy.

La Casa

It was busy, but not full, with quite a multi-cultural crowd for the town of Cabourg. The staff were pleasant and courteous, with a fair grasp of English. The service was good and prompt. The food came quite quickly and was hot (very important to us). The pizzas were great, and I really enjoyed my 'moules et frites'.All in all a great meal and a pleasant evening. Nothing not to like.To be honest, we cheated a little. We looked up the best reviewed restaurant in town, and decided to eat there, so La Casa was always on a bit of a hiding to nothing.Sure, very good, but not great

Just crossing the Piron bridge in Cabourg and you arrive here, a real new place with amazing food, and new tastes. We had a fondue ‘terre et mer’ which was a real discovery, with some alsacian influence. But also our gamba-salad starter was refreshing. The place is worth being visited, just outside the traditional Cabourg environment.

Very good quality food, decent wine at reasonable prices in Pots and good selection in bottles.English Menu (Carte) available and English understood. The Carte is limited, however as long as it is changed often that would be fine as most tastes are covered. A meal for 2 with 3 courses and house wine cost 86 Euros. Set menu options are available at lunch time but not in the evening. A very welcome addition to the Dives and Cabourg restaurants, I wish it well. I also hope that they will publish an email address for bookings.Thank you for your comment to see you soon adeline and frank.

Had dinner here before embarking for the UK on Saturday night . The service was faultless and the staff really lovely. We were not rushed at all and we had time to eat our meal at a lovely gentle pace. The Mere et terre starter of fois gras and salmon and prawn was superb and our main course of steak perfectly cooked to my taste and my wife had the veal in a lovely white sauce. The veal was a little overcooked but was still really tasty. All in all a good meal.
