L'enseigne du restaurant n'a pas de consonance asiatique, mais l'établissement est géré par Mai et son mari, un couple asiatique.La cuisine est européenne (belge) et aussi asiatique. Nous avons mangé une salade de chèvre chaud avec son accompagnement et une bouchée à la reine avec son panier de frites.Service souriant mais un peu lent, quoique seulement deux tables étaient occupées. Prix légèrement élevé : 44 euros pour deux sans entrée, ni dessert, ni café.

Resto-Brasserie "Het Vaderland" is located in the historic environment of the Big Market at Dendermonde. Here you can enjoy a variety of famous Belgian and local beers and good food. Don't forget to taste their "Asperges", the white gold of Belgium ;p Dendermonde is not widely known but worth visiting and you have also to taste the local specialities...

The setting is nice and the staff friendly, but they are asking way to much for basic Belgian food (suggestions are also uber-classics). The best was the price for a (special) Gin-tonic: 13 euro! A bit of mediocre sauce with your chicken saté: 2 euro.The french fries did not taste well (fresh made??) and the vegetables on our plate were to laugh with. To end well: the meat had a good taste and structure.A good restaurant starts with fair prices and someone with some creativity behind the fire (yes, even in a brasserie). Still, the place was full!

Interesting and diverse menu, with a few well thought out wild game entrees. These include wild caught venison, Scottish partridge and pheasant which are in season at this time.Lovely protected country estate that has been converted into an upscale restaurant and two guest rooms. Upgrades have kept the charm of the property. Enjoyed the venison this evening which was accompanied by a brocoli di rape, with an amuse bouche to start that consisted of the chef's own sausage creation. The amuse bouche was topped off by a wicked carrot and mint relish that played off the sausage perfectly. Venison was encrusted in a rustic mustard, cooked rare, very tender and tasteful. Paired with a Montepulciano wine that worked well.

A bit pricey but fair enough good cuisine. Staff is friendly and helpfull.All good things come with a price. Typical local cuisine with hints of French and Italian cuisine.Recommended restaurant.

This grill has a set menu, but you can have à la carte food and there are specials of the day.The place is not big, and the seating is uncomfortable with not enough space between tables or even at the table, conversations at neighbouring tables could be heard (or you could even participate. It was very hot inside as well.Waitresses were nice and tried to keep up with the full restaurant.Food itself was ok for a grill, no more. To me it is ok for a meal with friends, but don't go there for a tête à tête !

I have been here a few times and never been disappointed! Everything is here for a nice evening/lunch. Worth trying is the steak tartare,it's handmade at your table. This is the way a steak tartare should be. But the other dishes are also really good!

If you like fresh, tasty ingredients, prepared in an excellent way, with a very friendly service, in a small restaurant with enough space between the tables to guarantee privacy, this is the place to go. In Summer, they also have a couple of tables outside, giving on the cobble stone alley just off grote markt.Do make reservations for Friday- and Saturdaynights especcially.Highly recommended.

Amazing and savoury lunch for a group of 16 people which is always more difficult. Tasty carpaccio without the usual synthetic truffle oil. Delicious and juicy pintade. Magnific dessert. Very gentle staff.

We celebrated a family event here, and had a fixed meal option, which was adapted to the dietary needs of two of the participants. The restaurant is run by a couple, and we were geven an excellent service. Beautifully presented dishes, excellent food. Modern interior, lovely garden for the Summer. The only minus is the location away from the city centre.
