The municipality comprises the city of Dendermonde proper and the towns of Appels, Baasrode, Grembergen, Mespelare, Oudegem, Schoonaarde, and Sint-Gillis-bij-Dendermonde. Dendermonde is located at the mouth of the river Dender, where it flows into the Scheldt. The town has a long-standing (folkloric) feud with Aalst (situated south along the same river), which dates back from the Middle Ages.

A bit pricey but fair enough good cuisine. Staff is friendly and helpfull.All good things come with a price. Typical local cuisine with hints of French and Italian cuisine.Recommended restaurant.

This grill has a set menu, but you can have à la carte food and there are specials of the day.The place is not big, and the seating is uncomfortable with not enough space between tables or even at the table, conversations at neighbouring tables could be heard (or you could even participate. It was very hot inside as well.Waitresses were nice and tried to keep up with the full restaurant.Food itself was ok for a grill, no more. To me it is ok for a meal with friends, but don't go there for a tête à tête !

I have been here a few times and never been disappointed! Everything is here for a nice evening/lunch. Worth trying is the steak tartare,it's handmade at your table. This is the way a steak tartare should be. But the other dishes are also really good!

We got a bongo bon from our friends for this 1* Michelin restaurant. It was cold outside and cold inside. Apparently, they did not heat the restaurant before the arrival of the clients. The personnel however is very friendly, but the service is extremely slow. After 2 1/2 hours I was so hungry that we ate all the bread we could eat. And i saw other people had the same problem. For the desert I had to ask to accelarate. The plates were very small, but were very well presented and the food was of good quality. However, I was disappointed and will probably not return.

I adore these little restaurants who know what they want you to experience. You want great meat, wonderfully cooked on a wood stove, great service? Come here. End of line. I had a succulent entrecôte steak with baked potatoes. Great flavor!But here's my big surprise: we had a very good carpaccio with Puglia Burrata. The burrata was soft, creamy, a little bit chewy, with massive flavours, lightly drizzled with great olive oil and some pepper. Hmmm ... took me back to the little village in Italy where I had this for the first time. Now I need to go back to try their slow-cooked option. Kudos guys!

If you like fresh, tasty ingredients, prepared in an excellent way, with a very friendly service, in a small restaurant with enough space between the tables to guarantee privacy, this is the place to go. In Summer, they also have a couple of tables outside, giving on the cobble stone alley just off grote markt.Do make reservations for Friday- and Saturdaynights especcially.Highly recommended.

Amazing and savoury lunch for a group of 16 people which is always more difficult. Tasty carpaccio without the usual synthetic truffle oil. Delicious and juicy pintade. Magnific dessert. Very gentle staff.

We celebrated a family event here, and had a fixed meal option, which was adapted to the dietary needs of two of the participants. The restaurant is run by a couple, and we were geven an excellent service. Beautifully presented dishes, excellent food. Modern interior, lovely garden for the Summer. The only minus is the location away from the city centre.

Always busy in 'taverne oud gemeentehuis' and the customers + rumours were right..good service & nice price setting. Menu with focus on grill but plenty of other things (pasta/wok/fish etc) are available.
