Ail des Ours

We chose this place specifically for the excellent food reviews and food quality...and, no disappointments on that front. The two young chefs ensure the attention to details and food quality are first class by having a very limited table d'hote menu with you only choice is between a meat or fish main course. The wine list is OK but could have better descriptions of the grape varietals to assist choices. Despite the very excellent food quality there is little to no ambience in this 30 seat establishment and almost zero interaction between the very efficient and very busy maitre d' / host / waiter, a few smiles and some engagement would go a very long way, but there was none, and yes he was very busy...but.....same goes for the young chef / owners who have designed this place with a very open kitchen so you see all the preparation but there's no engagement with customers before, during or after service, no-one enquires to your enjoyment, satisfaction or seeks your feedback....is this a lack of interest, youth indifference or arrogance...it's hard to say but as soon as service was finished chefs changed clothes, cleaned up and departed without so much as a single word to a single customer. Restaurants are about more than just the food and more about the experience. We had a very good meal in good company but it could have been so much more!

Cosy little gem with exceptional creations! We had croquettes filled with creamy leek filling, and a veal carpaccio delicately dressed with pesto and chili flakes and mushrooms as entrees.. Then we had an interesting dish of veal liver coated with a sauce of parsley capsicums and chillis and a delectable dish of filet mignon served with mashed sweet potatoes dressed with a delightful sauce! Wow.. Greatly recommend this place!

I have visited the Table du Marais before and it is an excellent venue. This time I went there with a colleague to sample their good food which did not disappointThe ingrédients were high quality - the wine good if a little priceyThis venue is great in summer when you can sit on the terrace and look at the lakeThe service was also excellent with a bilingual waiter (who wanted to practice his English)

Very friendly service, even though we can’t speak French, with an English menu to save translating their french one. Per other reviews, simple food done very well, the perfect meal to end a long day In the sun. Full of locals, well worth leaving the Old Town touristy area for.Thank you so much Sir for advice! It is alway a real pleasure for us To meet some English people and speak.See you !

We visited the Osmoz on our first night in France. We've recently been reading about French Restaurant standards heading south and this seemed to bear that evaluation out. Not much to say: mediocre food; spotty service and a significant staff attitude problem: As we left, one of them sneered "Your French is excellent." Well, Pierre, your restaurant isn't.

Le Phare

Even in France, sometimes you need to take a break from haute cuisine and even everyday bistro food. At home (or in Italy), that break might take the form of pizza. In France, you have another option: creperies! You don't have to be in Brittany or even Normandy to find some reliable and enjoyable ethnic corners of that Celtic heritage. Across from the railroad station in Amiens is a rainbow selection of ethnic restaurants: Sushi, Indian, Moroccan, British Pub. In the middle, you will find Le Phare. As is traditional, the beverage of choice is hard cider, although they have a few wines on offer. A typical meal consists of a savory crepe, with a little side salad. Then a sweet crepe with various dessert fillings. Le Phare also has a nice selection of artisanal ice creams and sorbets. They are very good!I was very pleased with a crepe filled with house cured salmon. My wife opted for a more traditional crepe with ham, mushrooms and cheese. We have sampled creperies in many corners of France. This one is quite good and worth knowing about when you want a light meal and a little help with the budget,

This little restaurant is a good option for quick and reasonably priced dinner in Amiens. The menu is very simple and quite affordable. We chose a burger and an entrecote - both were very sizeable meals and we didn't any entrees or dessert. The waiter was really friendly and the other patrons appeared to be locals.

Food was really good and very high value for money. Plat du jour was excellent and at 10eur only. Kids menu at 8 eur (doesn't include drinks). The place needs more waiters. The 2 waiters were serving inside and outside, taking orders and payment. While they were literally running around, it was beyond their capacity. My kids got their drinks and we waited 10 min to get straws. Same for food, they got fries and another 10-15 min and 3 reminders to get ketchup. For bread, i just at the end went and got it myself from the counter. Hiring an extra waiter will definitely turn future experiences to 5
