We tried this as a lunch option, and would consider this as a once is enough type of restaurant. The parking is minimal, the building establishment and dining experience are almost like a fast food atmosphere, but with a fine dining budget. I tried the BLT which was good with a little kick. My associate got the duck sandwich which he enjoyed since it was deep fried. Neither come with any sides unless ordered as extra. You are given a can soda for a drink purchase, or have the option to fix water or tea at the back, along with gathering your own utensils. At $30 for 2 people, it is a bit steep for the quality of food, service, and overall atmosphere you are receiving. Nothing stood out to make either of us want to return again.

This was our first visit to Gerhard’s. I saw them on TripAdvisor and we decided to try them. We enjoyed the European atmosphere and dishes and our waitress, Maggie was fantastic! Our party got the quail with mushroom risotto, salmon, Farmer’s Plate, Surf and Turf, the peppercorn crusted sirloin, and a pizza. The baguette bread and butter was so good too. Some of the dishes came with salads too. I tried the German salad which was really good - potatoes, marinated cucumber, tomatoes and cabbage. For dessert we got the Italian lemon cake, brownie, apple strudel, and Snickers pie. All were very good! The formal dining area was full when we got there so we ate in the other dining area. (The website doesn’t mention this but more formal attire is requested for the formal dining area.) There is also an enclosed heated patio area for dining. Also I noticed that the menu at the restaurant is actually more extensive than the one on their website. Overall we enjoyed it and plan to come back!

We love German food and decided to check this place out. We ordered the Nuremburg sausage plate and two iced teas. The owner was nice, to a point. She brought our teas but it wasn't regular iced tea. It was a different tea, pale yellow, with lemon. They tasted different and was only okay. The plate of sausages came (3 small, slender sausages) with sour kraut and the owner told the cook to give us only half the kraut and add half potato salad (both were very small amounts and another customer eating beside us said the sides were on the very small side to begin with. The sausages were fantastic but the kraut was bland and the potato salad was full of onions. We asked for a sample of the advertised cucumber salad and a sample of red cabbage. We were brought a tiny amount (as expected as a sample. Just a small bite each). The cucumber salad was not as expected ( like other German restaurants ). This was thinly sliced cucumbers in vinegar with a few seasonings and no dill dressing. The red cabbage was bland. Not like other German restaurants (sweet tart with applesauce). The plate was 10.00 with two teas. The bill came to 18.00! We were charged a 2.00 fee for plate sharing!!! And another 2.00 for a side item. We didn't have a side item, only a one bite sample each. When I asked about the charges, the young woman ringing me up apologized and said she understood and explained that the 2.00 charge for plate sharing was on the menu under the sandwich section. We didn't read the sandwich section as we only wanted the sausages. The owner, herself, offered us the extra plate and never mentioned the plate sharing charge. She also knew that this was our first time in her restaurant because we told her when we came in the door. She was nice while we were ordering and eating but her attitude changed when I went to pay and was charged more than what I knew to be correct. We expected great German food and except for the sausages, there was nothing great about the rest, including the charges. The whole menu prices are steep for bland food. We will not be returning. This was January 17, 2017.
