Le Palissy is a lovely friendly family restaurant. The decor of Le Palissy belies the quality of the food within, with a bright, plain and somewhat austere environment. You could easily be forgiven for bypassing it based on curb appeal alone, as it lacks an established identity of the more popular venues in nearby towns. However, you'd miss a terrific family eatery. The menu is a simple mixture of classic French with popular American done with style and skill. The Pâté Basque is a paired-down rolled terrine with a wonderful texture. The entrecôte fumée a delicious, generous portion of local beef cleverly smoked on site. An unusual and wonderful taste. Their pork ribs are lovely with a rich, sticky and truly finger licking sauce stuck to an ample portion. The real star though is the chocolate fondant, a beautifully rich dessert served hot in a teacup. Be warned though; it's a blisteringly hot pot of intense chocolate lava that will make your forget any other chocolate pudding. A wooden clothes peg is clipped to the handle to prevent you burning your fingers. Devine! Service could be a little quicker, but we still had an enjoyably relaxed night and met the locals and friends. For a local restaurant it produces an impressive selection of dishes, competently cooked and delivered. Fantastic.

After a nightmare journey during which we missed our connecting flight to France and consequently landing a day late in Bordeaux, we finally arrived at our first stop on a two-week long journey to the Dordogne region. We were grateful that our first stop was at Jean-Claude and Grete's wonderful chambre d'hote and restaurant. Set in beautiful, bucolic surroundings, l'Auberge de la Source Peyssou was a restorative, restful stop. Exhausted and having lost a suitcase, we were welcomed with open arms by Grete, who proved to be a caring hostess indeed. After a rest in our lovely rooms, we were ready for dinner under the arbor. What a delicious meal! Opening with an entrée of scallops in a terrine and seared with a mushroom sauce, our dinner a delight for the senses. The scallops were perfectly cooked, seared on the outside and tender and flavorful on the inside; the terrine was absolutely delicious. The plat was canard de confit with snow peas; the duck was perfectly cooked and the snow peas a nice accompaniment. From our room we could see Grete and Jean-Claude's garden from which they provide most of their ingredients, including the fruits for their delicious homemade jams which graced our breakfast table the next morning.Grete tried to help as much as she could with retrieving my wife's lost bag as she talked to the people at Air France a couple of times. Her indignation was obvious on her face; she was sorry she couldn't do more. Warm and generous, she is a wonderful hostess. Our travails were lessened by our stay and the delicious food from Jean-Claude and Grete's kitchen. If you're traveling to southwest France, enjoy a stay at l'Auberge de la Source Peyssou.

It didnât start well when the waitress didnât want to help us with seating out of the sun!We ended up inside. We ordered two of the large chips, an omelette and a salad. The omelette is by far the best value for money as it comes with chips for about â¬8, chips alone were â¬5.They donât stock diet drinks so I stuck to water. It was an average meal, â¬30 for four adults.

Bistrot with a nice local, but slightly more modern type of cuisine. All product are fresh and all dishes are home-made. Very enjoyable terrace on mediaval square looking at the 2 entrance gates to the village. Service with a genuine smile.
Just had a terrific lunch at this little restaurant. Great quality and really tasty food. The staff are very pleasant as well which always helps. Definitely one of my favourite places to eat in the area. Like a lot of smaller French restaurants, the menu is limited but what they produce is great. Thoroughly recommend it.

Enjoy the tastes and flavours of the Périgord, of our beautifully created and presented dishes in our intimate, gourmet restaurant. With a capacity of only 28 guests, the intimate atmosphere is guaranteed. Tasty gourmet dinners in a relaxed, informal atmo
The food and the service are nothing short of amazing. We had the best meal here that we have had in any restaurant in a long time. The menu choices are fairly small but there is virtually no way you can go wrong. If you are staying at this hotel be sure to have dinner here at least one night it will be memorable.BonjourWe really appreciate your very kind comments regarding your meal in Restaurant Eléonore.Thank youArjan, Marije, chef Gwenaël and team Hôtel Edward 1er

We were recommended "The Holy Pig" by friends who live locally, and we were not disappointed. Every course from the fixed menu - there were 5 of them - was excellent with a full range of flavours to positively savour. Our final words regard the hosts who were both charming and provided the highest level of service, timing each course to perfection. All in all a fabulous meal at a great location with very friendly and excellent hosts.
