Ate here three times for lunch during our short stay in Monpazier. Set on the outskirts of town this lovely well shaded spot serves really lovely buckwheat pancakes with a selection of fine and tasty toppings. I loved the forestieres which was mushroom with cheese and egg. I wanted to try the pancake with homemade salted caramel but I was too full. Oh well I'll have to go back. Lovely place.

It didnât start well when the waitress didnât want to help us with seating out of the sun!We ended up inside. We ordered two of the large chips, an omelette and a salad. The omelette is by far the best value for money as it comes with chips for about â¬8, chips alone were â¬5.They donât stock diet drinks so I stuck to water. It was an average meal, â¬30 for four adults.

Bistrot with a nice local, but slightly more modern type of cuisine. All product are fresh and all dishes are home-made. Very enjoyable terrace on mediaval square looking at the 2 entrance gates to the village. Service with a genuine smile.

Just had a terrific lunch at this little restaurant. Great quality and really tasty food. The staff are very pleasant as well which always helps. Definitely one of my favourite places to eat in the area. Like a lot of smaller French restaurants, the menu is limited but what they produce is great. Thoroughly recommend it.

Our favorite meal during 10 days in Monpazier! Run by a husband/wife team, Le Croquant offers innovative food and friendly service at an extremely reasonable price. The lunch menu featured two choices of entrée, plat, and dessert so my husband and I ordered one of everything and shared. Everything was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented -- we particularly fell in love with a creamy celery velouté. Don't miss this lovely spot on rue St. Jacques!

If you want to eat authentic regional food, cooked by authentic people, in an authentic environment, then go to Le Marmiton. Everything you eat is either picked, plucked or harvested from their smallholding that week. And everything is cooked so deliciously by Christine. Don't ask what you're eating - just dig in, and enjoy the experience, with the wonderful Jackie as host.

Its not pretentious and jsut does good quick wholesome food. Its got a great atmosphere and seems to be staffed by a good young local crowd who obviously know how to run a good fast paced restaurant. Don't expect fine dining but just honest food at a good price in a lively atmosphere. We loved it!

This restaurant is well situated on a pretty street in Monpazier. We went this evening with our two boys and were really looking forward to a treat. However, we were made to wait 25 minutes before ordering without any water or bread not to mention any wine. The boys had fish and chips and steak hache. The batter on the fish was soggy and the steak hache was burnt on the outside and pink in the middle. Both dishes were served with a serving of over cooked veg and were very under seasoned.My salads gourmande was nice enough and well dressed but It contained four wafer-thin slices of smoked duck which seems a little mean. My wifeâs home cured sea trout gravadlax was very good actually. A generous helping and delicately flavoured. We both had the filet for main. It was small and tender but swimming in a very winey sauce. The dauphinoise potatoes had no seasoning and the vegetables were as described above. Puddings were better; crime brûlée and ile flotant done well. The service was friendly enough but really slow; I had to go inside to pay in the end. Overated all in all.

The food and the service are nothing short of amazing. We had the best meal here that we have had in any restaurant in a long time. The menu choices are fairly small but there is virtually no way you can go wrong. We were recommended "The Holy Pig" by friends who live locally, and we were not disappointed. Every course from the fixed menu - there were 5 of them - was excellent with a full range of flavours to positively savour. Our final words regard the hosts who were both charming and provided the highest level of service, timing each course to perfection.All in all a fabulous meal at a great location with very friendly and excellent hosts.
