Yellow Bird Cafe

The Yellow Bird is located right in the heart of Midtown Harrisburg, and offers coffee and pastries, as well as very nice meals. They bake their own pastries, and their own bread, which is wonderful. The environment is pleasant, without being stiff of formal. The food is mostly healthy options of nice breakfast sandwiches, soups and salads, or sandwiches/wraps. The place has a nice, neighborhood coffeehouse sort of feel to it, relatively small and intimate. It draws a nice crowd. Service is perky and pleasant - as is the whole place.

Stopped in for a sandwich on my lunch break. I got a chicken salad sandwich, chips and iced tea. Very fast and friendly. Little expensive- over $11. Sandwich was large, chicken salad was okay. Found big piece of gristle. I'm not a coffee drinker - they have a big selection and it looks like a good place for breakfast sandwiches. Might try that sometime.

Our daughter loves great tea, so this was a stop for her during a family weekend getaway. We had just hosted some UK girls in our home, so a chance to shop for the snacks they had exposed us to was great fun. The tea selection carried a variety of flavors for us to peruse. We took quite a few flavors home to try. Lunch was DE-LISH!!! And of course we had a scone and pot of tea. I would be embraced to say how much we spent in the grocery part of the store. Many things to take home and try. We would go again and again!

Having enjoyed the Café in Lititz many times, we had the opportunity to visit the one in Harrisburg. Wonderful service from Michaela, terrific food, very good value, not much changes between the restaurants. Well, not counting the rest rooms, not much changes. While very clean etc. just not quite the "charm" of the one in Lititz. OK there is a big one upstairs. We had 2 great soups- tomato bisque and ham and bean. Then of course the Tomato Pie. We brought a friend who had never been to either TPC and she loved it.
