Foster's Market

Maybe 20 years ago a place like Foster’s was a unique find. But there’s really nothing special about this deli/market.The food is good although slightly overpriced. Seating can be uncomfortable and seating indoors is a limited. nothing bad about it but nothing great about it either. Counter service only.

Came for dinner- great pretzels, beer, salads, short ribs. Service was excellent and food was wonderful. Came back two days later for breakfast- fresh eggs, tea, and scones. Went to bakery and got bread and pretzels to bring home. Loved this place and want to come back soon!! Highly recommend and get reservation for dinner.

After having a tour of the Museum, we went to lunch at the Cafe. The seating is easy-just find a seat and the staff is attentive to who comes in. Within a minute, menus were in hand and beverage orders were taken and delivered. The menu covers all tastes from light plates to salads and sandwiches and meals. The food was excellent and delivered as it was prepared so that the hot items were hot. There was plenty of food on each plate and the desserts were excellent. Our party was not rushed and treated with respect. I would fin italy go back there for lunch.Thank you so much for your review. Very happy you had a wonderful experience and we look forward to seeing you here again!

I recently had brunch at the Beyu Caffe in Downtown Durham. It was not very busy while I was there. The brunch menu is large so there is a good variety of options.I felt rushed the whole time I was there. My waitress wanted to take my order almost immediately. This might be ok if someone is familiar with the menu but most guests will want some time to decide. I could also see the rush if it were busy and the restaurant wanted to turn over the tables but that wasn't the case. The plate I ordered had eggs, a biscuit, bacon and homefries. It was a lot of food and I got to try a bunch of items so that was good. I liked the food. My check was brought out when I was eating. A manager or someone attempted to take my plate while I was still eating. So this was another reason I felt rushed. Even though I liked the food here, I don't think I'd return as the restaurant didn't seem to want my business. Durham has a lot of welcoming establishments that I will choose next time I'm in town.
