We were really looking forward to trying this French Bistro for lunch on an impromptu trip to Charlotte, as we would be in the vicinity. The location is convenient to South Park... and the atmosphere is authentic for a French Bistro... raising our expectations. We were promptly seated but it did take a while to actually order. Service was otherwise average. The food come out in a reasonable amount of time. Since it was close to noon, we wanted to try some traditional "fail proof" French items off the menu... unfortunately we were in for a rude surprise. Lets start with the French onion soup... undercooked sweet onions in a tasteless brown broth with tasteless cheese... not even Gruyere! Ok... this can be a tough one. Next we had the escargot... floating in butter, each covered in a soggy under cooked pastry crust... and flavorless! Next came the short rib baguette and the salmon croissant... both flavorless! We really want this place to be great as suggested by the reviews. Not sure what has happened here but something has surely changed!

7th Street Market is near downtown but a little off the beaten path. Several selections of food vendors. Healthy options as well.

Three good friends, two local to Charlotte and one visiting from NYC wanting to kick off the New Year in a good way. Brunch at Terrance Restaurants (Piedmont Row location) was exactly the right place.Coffee and water orders filled immediately after being seated. The breakfast/brunch menu is extensive....SO many choices it was difficult to narrow it down. We each selected something 'different' and not ordinary like 'bacon and eggs' (not that there is anything wrong with that!)I chose the Avocado Toast and it was perfect. Two eggs sunny side up served on rye toast, fried green tomatoes, avocado spread and avocado slices. Yes, it was as good as it sounds. Others selected the Chef's Hash Skillet with a side of a (huge) biscuit and sausage gravy and my other friend totally enjoyed her Stuffed Monte Crisco!Food - outstanding all around - Service - Excellent - Greeting upon arrival - Warm and Gracious. To the management team, the kitchen chef and all kitchen assistants....well done!
